I am not upset about Butch Jones being hired to be our coach at all!! But, Wisconsin got Gary Andersen from Utah State!! That guy is going to do well. Not sure if Tennessee looked at him or not, they should have.

This place would have melted down had we hire Utah states coach. His record isn't even good. Ill take BJ over him all day every day

I know! Utah State was a dumpster fire when he got there. He has really turned that program around. He is a good defensive-minded coach. They play hard. I just wonder what his offenses will look like in Madison.

Why? He is an even more unknown name with a career losing record from Utah State. No thank you. Hart blew it with his search and may still get lucky. Jones is an unknown. Andersen is an unknown. I fail to see how Andersen is better. Jones has a better resume. A much better resume. We have had enough losing coaches from the WAC.

I posted about Gary in the rumors forum. IMO Gary Andersen is going to be a beast. Better than Beilema at Wisconsin if I was going to guess. I'd have loved if we hired him. He's done very well under Urban & Wittingham and on his own.

FTR I'm glad we have Butch, more experience as HC bigger name and program East Coast guy etc. I do believe Wisconsin just got the best bang for the buck there is though.

Yeah, both Andersen and MacIntyre (now at Colorado) were intriguing coaching candidates this year. They were both guys who you wish had another year or two in the mid majors to evaluate though. Particularly MacIntyre I think could be great, but there just isn't enough evidence to tell yet. Butch Jones is a much safer bet than either of them.

Andersen beat his previous boss this year with less talent look for him to beat Urban by year 2 at OSU another of his previous bosses.
