Wiseman ineligible

This right here is exactly the reason I laugh when people say, screw the NCAA, universities should just be able to police themselves...yeah, we can all count on Memphis to do that! One of the most scandalous programs in college basketball is about to be given the green light to take their cheating to another level and people are applauding it. LSU and Memphis have just made it very clear, yeah we cheat, what are you gonna do about it, and it pi$$es me off! So if only Pearl had said screw you NCAA, I gave a kid a sandwich and I’ll sue you if you try to punish me, everything would’ve been peachy? But now that we have possibly the most straight forward coach in the NCAA, cheating is being accepted because it’s being done out in the open and not in some dark alley, like the old days. Unbelievable!
GBO!!
All very true.

Wiseman Drops lawsuit.

Wonder if they'll reinstate him this year?

Maybe for next season?

Sit out till January?

My feeling is they suspend him a few games and he's still eligible to play the rest of the year because the NCAA doesn't want to go to court. Still wish we'd take the NCAA to court over Uros knowing good and well they want no part of a courtroom

We'll see if the NCAA budges from the original 30% suspension.

Also curious to see if Memphis gets to keep its first two wins.

I heard 3 to 9 games he sits. There is an agreement in place with the NCAA. It won't be 30% or whatever it is. They wanted Wiseman to withdraw, to sit him, and then they announce this week. There was no new info. This from an actual booster.

Yea, that't true. But, that's the norm. I wouldn't give in to the norm. Legal cases are about leverage, and right now, Wiseman has some leverage. People can argue how much, but some of these issues are snowballing on the NCAA, and I do think there is a lot of support for Wiseman. Use the leverage to negotiate an immediate 6 game suspension. Then, if he plays tonight, guess what? The game in Knoxville is his first game back.

I think I have bumped one of my own posts in almost 8 years. I can’t say the exact number, but this appears to be what is happening.

You do realize 30% would be 9 games, right? And you just said above 3-9 games?

I think 6-8 is most likely. However I do wonder if NCAA looks at the fact Memphis wanted Wiseman out there for Oregon game and doesn’t really like that fact?

So Pearl lies, then admits after he gets caught, and is gone for 3 years. Hardaway lies, gets caught, and goes basically Scot-free?

Probably 3 or 5. It won't be 9. They have an agreement in place apparently.
I used to live in Memphis, and my old next door neighbor's youngest son is friends with a janitor at Tiger High, and he swears the NCAA is just going to say this is all a big misunderstanding and they are sorry for any inconveniences wrongly perpetrated against all parties involved.

I'll be nice.
