So far I have not gotten the impression at all that CBJ is the sort of coach that allows players to "get what they want." In fact, he was specific in the PC is softening the idea that he is a "player's coach."
My initial impression is that he is the kind of coach that is willing to get dirty with the players. He is willing to invest a great deal emotionally into them. Unlike other coaches who are much more distant.
I don't see, necessarily, how this equates to the players gaining more control over anything. It seems to me he is the one always calling the shots.
