When you show up at a kid's house and all you have is a Decade of Dominance DVD for him to watch, you're screwed.

No point in even following recruiting anymore.

everyone needs to just chill out. he may recruit, no one knows for sure. plus im sure he will have a surrounding staff that will be recruiting gurus... we will be fine.

let me play you the world's smallest violin; it will set the mood appropriately

Don't worry, you will be complaining when you see this program go down the toilet.

Who in the hell would want to come work for him? Kurt Roper, that's all you have?

And the only thing he is a "guru" of is making a career off of the Manning family.

learn to read. i said nothing of him being a guru. i said we would hire recruiting gurus. and i doubt theyd care about working for him if we are paying them more than they get anywhere else.

And just what did boy Kiffin bring???? Coach cut has Peyton,Eli and Eric on his pedigree and tons of UT heritage, STFU about cut. 151 of Punkins wins were Cut's!!! The only good years Fulmer had were when Cut was controlling the team. This is a good hire for the simple reason of timing and restoring some dignity after the Band of Gypsys left. Cut will be short term 2-4 years get program back in good standing with NCAA and SEC and then we get Peyton to come in and take us to the top!!! Sorry, thats a little over the top!!

Just wondering, at this time of the year who did you expect us to hire? If he keep CLT (2007 Recruiter of the year) Kippy will be strong (coached tons of NFL talent) hire a couple more and no violations.

You two should get married, because you're both insane. First off, who are these "gurus" that he would magically find? Garner? Why the hell would he leave UGA now? Richt has more stability now than this program does. So who else? Kurt Roper? You should never speak again because you have lost touch with reality....

As for the second insane post, restore some dignity? With what? A terrible recruiting class and 2 straight years of losing seasons? When the hell has he ever demonstrated that he knows what the hell it takes to be a head coach? He was fired one year after losing Eli because everyone knew he sucked at being a head coach. Hell, by your standards, Tony Dungy and Tom Coughlin have excellent QB "Pedigrees". Have you lost your mind? The Mannings knew how to play QB before they ever met Cut. Don't sit there and tell me he "bred" them to be QB's....Archie did with his genes.

In case you two haven't noticed, it's not 1997 anymore. He is a good OC, that's it! He has no head coaching abilities whatsoever. That was the most impressive 5-7 Duke team I have ever seen. Good Lord.

See, even this one doesn't know what you're talking about. Bring in gurus my arse....

Chill out? Matt Luke and Kurt Roper (offensive coordinator)??? we're screwed. If he doesn't include the staff that is already here, get used to the 5-7 years again. I hope I'm wrong, but we will be digging the bottom of the barrel for recruits. And Chavis??? give me a break. Everybody on this staff has to recruit, and he certainly can't. I will take a wait an see approach, but it looks like this program will be down for many years to come. Our big games will be at the end of the year against Vandy and Ky. This is really disappointing.

Well.... not being able to recruit is what got him canned at Ole Miss. He better fix that or his tenure here will be a short one. Matt Luke and Kurt Roper aren't going to cut it in that department.

Recruiting has always been his biggest problem, he simply doesn't have what it takes. As far as him getting top notch recruiters to come with him it is possible but remember this is a guy who is loyal to his assistants and coordinators to a fault. He will bring as many of them as possible here and from what I'm hearing this is what the glitch has been in getting a deal finalized. He wants to bring coaches here that we simply don't think will cut the mustard in a situation like we have at UT recruiting nationally.

We also have a problem with a few guys already on staff and under contract we will have to buy out, the money we shelled out for their contracts will have to be paid and then we have to pay new coaches contracts. The money that was made available for assistants last year will not be their to the same extent, hard to lure top notch recruiters this late in the game without showing them the money.

Let him stay at duke. We have better recruiters than they have already in place. Kippy Brown makes the most sense right now in my opinion.

This is like the second bomb dropped on Japan for Tennessee. This is Tennessee's Nagasaki. This brings us to the level of Kentucky....if we're lucky. I think a no hire and just letting Kippy run with it for awhile would have been better. The only remote chance he has(we have) is if he keeps CLT and Kippy. But from what I heard he's loyal to his staff at Duke and is bringing them with him.

Probably the reason he won't be here. It would be ignorant to let Kippy and Lance walk. Probably the last nail in Hamilton's coffin too. That board of trustees meeting will be a sweat-a-thon for Hamilton anyway regardless of who we hire.

ok though if you're going to go that route then Kiffin's "bye I'm leaving today and taking everyone with me" would be the first bomb

Yes, It was. That was the first bomb, Hiroshima. We're still hemorrhaging recruits from that. The only thing that can stop the bleeding is a solid HC choice. And Cutcliffe is not the man. I just hope we have a man in place by the weekend before the dead period is over.
