What does Bruce do? I was shocked to see us running with Charlotte so much but I think Pearl puts the brakes on quick in this game. If we don't have a gameplan based around the halfcourt than we are toast because the only way we come close to winning this game is playing Big 10 basketball at a snail pace. The worst thing about this game is the bench play. Maze on Collins might be bad but JP or Bone would be horrific. Not to mention McBee trying to keep Henry in front of him.

If I was Self, I'd do two things......
- Run, run, run
- Attack the inside.

This is going to be interesting. I hope Bruce don't let his boys run with Kansas or it's going to be ugly. I'm looking forward to a lot of set plays.

Set plays just ain't the way they play....all jokes/criticisms aside. Running/uptempo is the way our team scores.

Sorry to say but it will be a blowout on Sunday. Lessons will be learned for this young team and will prepare them for the SEC season and 2011.

The only thing he can do is prepare them the best he can and see what happens. He has to keep their confidence up for the rest of the year because these guys can still win a lot of games PERIOD.

Same assumption was made about the Cornell game and we know how that turned out. It doesn't look good for us, but if we play inspired like we did last night, then I like our chances.

I think Pearl tries to run, at least in the early going. Will a limited bench, Kansas will expect us to try to slow things down. I say try to hit them in the mouth early. We need to try to make some sort of statement and show that we aren't gonna back down. I'm not saying we need to run the whole game, but we do need to pick and choose when we can do that.

If we go to a half court game we lose. Alot. To teams much worse than Kansas. And thats even if we had all 4 suspended players. Just doesn't work for us.

I see us coming out playing inspired on Sunday. Maybe taking a lead early and going back and forth through the first half. The crowd will be loud and into it. We'll keep it close through the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half but we'll get in foul trouble and basically get blown out in the final 7 or 8 minutes. Final score won't reflect how close it was for most of the game.

Once we get into SEC play though, I like our chances to be competitive and win our share of games and get back to the tournament. We won't be going to the Elite 8 but we can win a game or possibly two if we are very lucky. Not exactly what I had planned for the year but better than nothing.

I wish that we could be more versatile and run set plays when we needed, but that's not Bruce's style... which I am fine with. But it's tough to succeed in half-court sets when you don't shoot the 3 particularly well and you have to rely on individual breakdowns - especially against teams that are more talented than we are.

The SEC is short on talent this year, but most of the teams we'll face are long and deep. We'll be running a 7 man rotation against teams that play 9 and 10 players of equal talent. We'll be fortunate to win 40% of our SEC schedule. By mid schedule the legs will be dead. Thoughts of Post season this year are empty dreams.
