They'll just give the elite player enough extra to cover the cost. The ones who get hurt are the lower level ones (which covers most of the college athletes) who aren't getting NIL and can't afford it.

Would it be unfair to suggest that if a player is receiving NIL/Benefits and he transfers, that they should be on the hook for a percentage of what was provided to them?

It’s no different if your company sends you to school, get certifications, relocation, etc. - for a period of time, you are required to stay with the company or reimburse them for the expenses incurred if you leave. Of course, the dynamic is different since it’s not the school paying them directly…

Of course, what would likely happen is the destination school will just pay him X amount more, but it might cut down on some of the transfer madness for everyone but the top players. I’m not sure what the solution is, but the whole charade of “student athlete” is ridiculous.

Has anyone ever published an NIL contract? Is there a repayment clause?
Earlier this year, Jimmy Hyams said that most of them were multi-year. Although I've also heard most of them were fairly low pay.
Also, didn't the booster/collective rent the player's name, image, and likeness? That's exactly what they got. Who exactly is reneging?

Just and influx of stupidity and bad takes here lately. Apparently all of them require a thread.

I’m not saying we should instaband or anything but aerial bombardment maybe necessary soon.
