There's some truth to that, but it sounds like an ego trip to me.

It's the only school without a drawl. The other 11 are in the South. Florida is not. It's in Florida. Florida's not the South.

I laugh every time I hear people use this excuse. Florida is different from a lot of other states in the SEC, but GAINESVILLE is as red as any place you'll go in the SEC.

And it really is the truth. It's amazing how mediocre Florida athletics were up until the past 15 years or so. Not that they were bad, but they definitely were never elite.

I don't like Florida, I hate the Chomp. I hate Spurrier. NOt denying that, but to think that they are on some upper echilon because, oh wait, shocker, other SEC school fans don't like them, well, it's a bit ridiculous.

I can tell you this much, besides TN and UGA, and those would be split mind you....there are a lot of TN fans out there that have equal or more disdain for Alabama than Florida. and UGA, i'm sure has some fans that would say Auburn or
TN was as hated as the gators.

Let's get something straight right now.

I didn't know who or what or where the University of Florida was before 1990, in any sport. O/t than that's where Emmitt Smith came from.

I do know all about Auburn, Alabama, LSU, UGA, and obviously TN.

Florida, get over yourself, and you are in the south. there's absolutely no difference between South Georgia and North Florida.

what a load of :crap: what am i supposed to do now, profess my love for the gators??? gimmie a break.

o&b are you really naive enough to think that people out there don't hate TN, LSU, UGA, Bama, AUB..and a whole host of other top tier programs for the same reasons? That's all i'm getting at....the fact that this guy just wrote it down is funny.

It's now gotten to the point for UF that we can no longer compare ourselves by way of traditions etc...but we can sure as hell be the MOST hated college out there, and here's why....blah, blah, blah....

so i guess congratulations? everybody hates you? good job. Go ahead and continue to brag about no one liking you....the rest of us will just to continue to stick to winning.

It amazes me that Florida fans still talk about Spurrier. He's gone, move on.

It's almost as bad as Dawg fans still talking about their 1980 National Championship. Believe me, they do, non stop.

Without a doubt the 2 most hated schools in the SEC are Bammer and Tennessee. There is a reason and it is called, Tradition. The two powerhouses of the SEC are disliked by every single school in the SEC. Florida is like the new kid that moves in to town. A little annoying but you can look past their ignorance. But the long time bully is really despised.
So O&B have your little laugh and feel better about your new found "fame". But remember the Gators are footnotes in SEC history and are the 3rd rate school in the state of Florida.

My hatred is with and always will be with Bammer. I don't care who they play. Hell if they were playing the Al Quaida bombers I would ride a camel and wear a turbin and pray for a bammer loss.

I'm not saying that no other team's fans hate other teams in the SEC, but I think the most hatred in general is toward the Gators. Of course every team is going to have their rivals and what not who they are naturally going to hate, but probably outside of that, I'm sure a lot of other SEC fans would say they hate UF outside of that. If you asked a Kentucky fan which school they hated more, UF or UT - uhh I'm pretty sure you know what they'd say 4 times out of 5, same goes for many of the other programs. Its no big deal, and I wouldn't chracterize it as an ego booster, but if you were a Gator fan, you'd probably notice it...oh well...keep thinking I'm crazy.

I just asked 10 Kentucky fans on a conference call in Lexington, 7 for UT, 2 for UF and 1 for Vandy (I don't think he understood the question).

My employees are probably wondering why I'm asking them this and likely fear for their jobs.

Nope, you said 4 of 5, and that was in fact incorrect. Remember, Kentucky doesn't beat us either, and we've been beating them for a lot longer than Florida has.

Why would they hate one team over another, when both of those teams destroy them every year on the gridiron?

i equate this to the little brother that always got picked on when he was young. Could never hang with the big kids....

And then one day, he grows up a little, flexes some muscle, but still to his dismay, can still not hang with the big kids of his past.

and now has to resort to hanging on to the most minute characteristics to view himself as having some self worth, even if it means that he turns in to an arrogant, pompass, smarmy SOB. In his eyes, he's the "best" SOB out there, so that should count for something....

But yet again, to his dismay...... :cry:

In my experiences, Florida is home to more redneck trash then just about any state in the South. Florida is a magnet for rednecks from around the country.

I've got news for you . . . for about 80% of Tennessee fans, Florida is a distant second on the hate-o-meter . . . and they are probably close to being tied for second with UGA.
