I've spoken to a good amount of 2011 kids today and yesterday. I am in the process of writing up all the articles as we speak, but before I do that I wanted to shed some light and thoughts on the Tennessee program.
Going into the Western Kentucky game there were a lot of question marks going into the season. How would new head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff would compete on the gridiron and also on the recruiting trail.
It was huge for Kiffin to land both Byrce Brown, Nuke Richardson, and David Oku. Getting those late commits and eventual signatures showed 2010 and more importantly 2011 prospects that Tennessee is changing.
After the game, I've been able to speak with a few 2010 kids and more 2011 kids. The vibe around Tennessee right now is very high. Lots of praise and impressed kids. I'd say Tennessee took a huge step in the right direction right now.
I got a chance to speak with Jeremy Hill out of Baton Rouge, LA yesterday and and now just finished wrapping up a converstaion with his teammate La'el Collins. Both have Tennessee offers and both will not only be top targets in the SEC country but both will be national recruits. I won't go into too much detail about what they said as I'll be doing articles on each, but both gave Tennessee very high praise, especially Hill.
I also got a chance to speak with Tacoi Sumler, who we published an article on today. Kid is very very well spoken and was a treat to speak to. He is also as you can tell very interested in Tennessee and what they have to offer. He recently ran a 4.31 forty and folks, thats damn fast! He's played a pre-season game and one game that's counted. In those two games hes scored 7 times, six coming from offense via passes and the other via a pick six. Hes also racked up over 500 yards of all-purpose. He will certainly be a player to watch for.
