Following the sports card hobby I can say that it's popularity is at an all time high right now. Thanks to not only Caitlin Clark but this past Rookie Class as a whole.

Collecting of sports cards doesn't necessarily correlate to the popularity of the sport (especially with the WNBA). It's the popularity of the players.

I thought that was possible because of the new media rights deal that will kick in in 2026 season. That will increase WNBA's media rights revenue from about $60m to about $200m a year. Otherwise the league will continue to lose tens of millions of dollars every year. The other consideration is the value of the franchises may still go up even if running the franchises is not profitable. That "may be" possible if WNBA continues to grow more popular.
