Nothing better than fish and chips in England. I hate those mashed peas though.
Agree, they do know how to make them. I went to a Beef O’Bradys in New Port Richey, Florida a few years ago. I looked at the menu and saw fish and chips so it made me recall how good they were in London. I ordered them and when they were bringing them to our table, I saw that each piece of fish was exactly the same as all of the others. They looked as if they had been perfectly cloned.
Yes, they were made from fish that had been put in a mold somewhere and shipped in bulk frozen.
Haven’t been to a Beef O’Bradys since then.

I’ve been on a search for good fish and chips in this area. Let me know if you discover anything.

I remember watching a video where a group of youtubers paid a justin bieber look alike to go sit in a park and eat a burrito like it was corn on the cob or something, and people freaked out.. they couldnt believe that bieber ate a burrito like that, and everyone was calling it a huge food crime. The video went viral and made national news.. this makes me think that the peas were put on there for the attention.

1. Brits
2. They’re not “mushy peas” (Brits)
3. Beans for breakfast (gaseous Brits)
4. Cafeteria trays (not home cooked, so some business was offering peas with breakfast)
5. Brits

If anyone is down on 30A this summer, Goatfeathers seafood market actually does an amazing fish and chips. The fried shrimp are great, as well. I had both at the Rosemary location, but I assume the West location is similar.

We just had supper from there. Grouper for fish tacos, and boiled shrimp as well. 🙂

Edit: Daughter sez y'all were talkin bout the restaurant, but we got fixins from the market. Son: cool story, bro.

If you're near Cookeville, they re-opened Bull & Thistle in Gainesboro. They had a really good fish and chips previously. Haven't been since they re-opened but they used to get a lot of patrons out of Nashville and Knoxville. Not priced for locals, but I had eaten there 3 times and found the food to be worthy of the pricing. I really liked it. My only knock on them is that there is no Irish Stew or Shepherd's Pie on the main menu. It may run as specials as they tend to add those. It's an Irish/English style Pub/Eatery.
