People should be allowed to be in charge of their own bodies.

Mind-blowing really.

How can you so consistently have exactly the wrong take?
Catholic hospitals can do what they want. Again, they can agree or not agree to do procedures. It’s not wrong that they can have that freedom, even if you disagree with it.

We have the freedom to criticize them for it.

It's the doctors choice to have that policy. I think it's stupid and I disagree with it but I would suggest for her to simply seek another practice.

It doesnt appear to be a current law so that's good.

When I got mine, my doctor required my wife attend a meeting with all 3 of us, prior to the surgery.

Not a big deal, dont like it? Find a new doctor.

I think it's different to require consent and to require notification. OP says "consent"

Mine didnt require the wifes attendance but did spend about 30 mins talking about the decision and what it means. I didnt grasp the true permanence until afterwards. Luckily for me, it was still the right decision. In five years i went from being carded for rated R movies to not carded for a beer because I have a "dad face". i love my kids very much and they are incredible but 3 is too many for me. Especially when I'm also taking care of the MIL and the grandparents, one of which has dementia. Takes a toll on the ol bones.

wife agrees btw. We spoke about it way before number two was born.

His take is nothing like yours. He's shaming the hospital. You were shaming the lady.
I shamed the lady because she was ignorant not to understand that Catholics don’t do that. And because she went to Twitter to whine about it and get sympathy attention. Social media whores deserve shaming

Never once regretted mine. Have wonderful kids, but did not want to ever start that cycle again.
