If Tony Stewart,Dale Earnhardt,Jeff Gordon, were no longer racing,50% maybe.

I would put the number at 75-80%, minimum, possibly higher. I think most fans of any one driver have a secondary favorite to fall back on. The live attendance might suffer more than the TV audience, thereby having those people watching instead of being at the race.

I'm a Stewart fan all the way but there and only a handfull of drivers that I don't "like". I just enjoy racing. When Tony quits racing I'm sure I'll find me a new favorite driver.

I wonder how many people would still be interested in Nascar if Dale Earnhardt Sr, Rusty Wallace, and Dale Jarrett were no longer racing.

Oh wait........

Well played.

The same number who quit watching when Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison, David Pearson and Darrell Waltrip stopped racing.

Exactly. Or Junior Johnson, Ned Jarrett, and Fred Lorenzen shortly after the death of Fireball Roberts. There will always be someone there, ready to step into the void.

Most everyone here knows what I did when D Allison died. It took years but I keep up with it,just won't put my heart into it as before.
