That was a great game and I'm happy to see Miss State advance. They have some great players & a great coach. Still, my god, what terrible placement by the committee to put 4-seed Michigan State in the Bulldogs' gym.
Go SEC - survive & advance!
Seems they should have found another venue in the Lansing area.
I liked the MSU win but I liked even better DePaul beating Louisville on Louisville's home court. That, too, was a great game.
Watching Baylor and Auburn. SMH. There is no way we could play with Baylor. The passes, the rebounding, the quickness, the sheer effort/aggression they play with. I know they have talent but....!! What is wrong with us? It can't all be Holly. I know we have NO offensive game (think we can put that on Holly), and the girls seem like a good group. Why can we not play basketball? If I could answer that question, I'd be a Division I coach I guess. I am just soooooo frustrated and depressed right now:cray:.
It sometimes happens that a higher seeded team cannot host due to a conflict. It happened to Miss State during the 2000 tournament. The Bulldogs were a 3 seed and had a terrific year but had to go to Oregon, the 6 seed, to play because there was a major event on campus and there were no hotel rooms. Starkville is a tiny place and had few lodging options that were all full. That 2000 team lost in the 2nd round to UAB, who beat Oregon in the opening round, so it was a slightly different set up than yesterday.
I am proud of the Lady Bulldogs. They are well coached and Vivians is a legit talent. When the Lady Vols lost to them during the year and in the SEC tournament, this board was pretty upset but while they don't have great history, Mississippi State has a good team this season. They will not come within 25 of UConn, but still a great accomplishment to make it this far.
