I don't see his name on the rosters for the Derby Classic. I'm surprised to see that Chris Singleton is playing in the game. I figured a recruit who spurned a local school would avoid that event. http://www.kdf.org/documents/2008-Basketball-rosters.pdf
Im pumped about wooldridge also.
but im still trying to figure out what position he plays at UT?
the 3 or 4..
either way, he'll have to beat out Crews/Tatum/Tabb to get many minutes next year, which will be tough to do
It's certainly possible that things have since changed. The roster I've been looking at has 12 players on one side and 11 on the other. Perhaps they have since decided to add Woolridge to make it 12-12.
He participated in the 2 on 2 tourney, 3 pt, and dunk competition last night with the Derby Teams. He is playing tomorrow. Here's what someone on Scout said about him last night.
I saw Woolridge play tonight in a 2 on 2 contest, 3 point shoot-out and dunk contest in an event they always have here in Louisville the day before the Derby Classic.
Just thought I would let you all know that he's long, strong and a good defender. He has much better handles than I expected and scores well around the rim. He's a strong finisher but also skilled around the basket.
Putting him and Scotty Hopson on the wings is going to be tough to deal with in addition to what you guys have coming back.
Only negatives would be first, that his form and release could be better, but he's still a decent/good shooter from 3.
Secondly, he is goofy like his daddy...he tried to do a cartwheel before his dunk in the dunk contest at least 5 times and never made the shot or the cartwheel.
Also here is the link to watch the game tonight at 7. Wazoo Sports
Then switch it over to watch Scotty Hopson on Espn 2 at 9!
Wazoo announcers just commented that Woolridge was a late addition to the tournament. They didn't have a bio on him and didn't know anything about him except he has committed to UT. They wondered if he was related to Orlando Woolridge.:ermm:
They did say that his playing style and abilities reminded them of Scotty Hopson.
