Looks like USA has a tough draw with Italy and Czech Rep. in 1st round. I think it will be really hard to advance this time.

Same here. We have a B league team in Nashville (Metros), a 20-30 year history of strong youth soccer programs in the area, and a large hispanic population. So I think it gets a little more press than maybe in some other cities in the region. I have not been out of the country since 9-11 but I would consider going to Germany next year if I got tickets to a match or two. I went to Orlando when we hosted in '94 and it was electric. Probably the best live sporting event that I have attended.

Maybe we can get a soccer ball smilie next year?

Are you really talking about soccer  :bad:

Some would call it the real football, but I will not go that far. Yes, it is soccer time. The World Cup is right around the corner. It will be all over the media for 2006. I realize that the annual Moon Pie toss in Bellbuckle is probably a bigger sporting event to some of you but for the rest of the world this is as big as it gets.

I would expect no less from someone who most likely know absolutely nothing about soccer. People always hate what they are not good at are dont understand.

I love College football first and soccer second. US is hard group but think they can pull it through. Hell, last time they surprised the Portugese by beating them 2-1 in first round and went uphill from there. Think they can do the same this time. Czechs and Italians will be hard but not impossible. Hope to be in Germany during summer and will either try to attend a game or drink a few in a local Gasthaus enjoying will other fans.

There's something you don't hear every day, or year.

I know. Different isn't always good. But I am what I am. Just like american football there is always beer involved. Got hooked.

I probably should have added "...in Tennessee."
