"He had a great week of preparation and he banged it up again. I believe it was when he made the tackle. We knew obviously that there were some issues there but he performed well in practice, that is football. Could he have gone in at the time? Yes. But we wanted to make sure that we tried to see what it was and not doing anything to further injury itself. So there were a lot of things and a lot of thought process that went behind that. Right now he is day-to-day and we will know more about where he is at later on down the road."



(On ruling Justin Worley out because of injury)
"I will know more probably late tonight to tomorrow. What I have been told is that it is day to day. Right now he is undergoing further examination. We are taking the approach that he will be available and playing. He was in the building this morning. We just have to take it one day at a time."

I understand. I'm just a UPS driver.I have got to talk to this person the past few years.I was in their office when Worley was a recruit and I saw a pic of Worley and Peyton from Peyton's camp.Thats when I found out they were a family member.

My Dad cut his tendon in his arm about 7 years ago. He was out of commission for 18 months & doesn't have full motion of his hand back. Probably will never get it all back.

I didn't mean to come across as aggressive or as disagreeable with regards to the need for specialists. I apologize for not making myself clearer. Your dad is lucky he didn't lose a lot more -- tendon cuts in the arm are awful.

TBH, I'm a little in shock over this even though the thought occurred to me earlier that this could be the case (I posted the possibility in the tweet thread based on what his symptoms prior to the 2nd hit were). It's just a lot more real hearing it from others even if it's still in the rumor stage and Worley's been through too much. It was obvious to me that he was too hurt to stay in that game as long as he did no matter how badly he wanted to and it just kills me that him making that tackle against a bammer is probably what either (a) took things from strain to full blown tear (b) produced a fracture to add to his woes or (c) all of the above.

I've said before that no matter what happens, Worley will always be one of my favorite Vols. He's a hero no matter what.

Hate that he is injured, and while I have never really thought he was the right fit for the system he did improve and did what had to be done against UGa and USCe. One thing that he impressed me with was his toughness, he has stood in and taken shots and delivered, did it against USCe, came back after hurting his thumb, he definitely shows toughness in the position.

For the record, his brother appears to have deleted this tweet, but the reply chain indicates he did say something and I believe that was likely it. Reports are that he was wearing a cast in class today.

Here's something from Hubbs. He was asked, "Is Worley done for the year?"

"Tennessee will not confirm so I don't know at this point for sure. We will see how Butch addresses it tomorrow. Worley is not going to practice and he is again going to be asked about it.

I don't think Justin is in Atlanta to night for surgery or anything like that. But I'm not sure calling it a day to day injury is accurate either."

I think Bray broke his thumb. If it really is a torn ligament in his thumb I would say his season's done for sure. My son had the same injury on his throwing hand last year and he was held out 12 weeks though it seemed back to normal in 8 or 9. Just no contact. I'm sure like most high schooler's we didn't have all the specialists/rehab facilities a major college QB does though

His girlfriend is in my best friends supply chain class group and told him that Justin tore the ligaments on his thumb and will be in a hard cast for 4 weeks after his surgery in Atlanta tonight or tomorrow."

No one has asked the correct question...Is she hot?
