Does everything really happen for a reason? I tend to think things happen due to a variety of circumstances: prior actions, preparedness, and even some things by chance. Why do people say things happen for a reason, as if some higher power is controlling our every move?

We have no idea what this relates to or even if it relates to football. Likely means his thumb is going to put him out for significant time though.

Which is funny, since I didn't say one word about what was going on in his mind. I said he had little to zero pressure, which is true. No one in their right mind expected him to bring UT back and no one would have gotten down on him had he done poorly. That's the definition of "little pressure'. Surely you understand the difference between starting a game against Alabama than coming in when you're down 5 touchdowns.

Actually, claiming to know how much pressure a person feels in any situation is precisely claiming to know what's going on in their mind.

You don't think he may have been feeling pressure, taking his first snaps in front of 90,000-100,000 people, against the nation's top defense, after Peterman came in and got banged up while giving up several turnovers in his debut against UF?

Really?

Really?

You're describing nervousness; if he wasn't nervous, he's not human. I never said anything about the pressure HE felt, I'm talking about pressure from fans, coaches, commentators, etc, specifically expectations. From that perspective, no one was excepting him (realistically at least) for him to come in and win the game or even do particularly well. If he had gone in and done horribly, other than some very unrealistic people, most of us would have understood.

He's going to have more expected out of him if he starts the Missouri game rather than when he came in against Alabama.

don't happen for a reason. Much of life is random.

It is my opinion that very few things are truly random. Most things that we interpret as random are actually the result of a complicated confluence of events that were impossible for us to foretell. People often call things "random" when in fact they're really just "unpredictable."

Maybe so but what can Worley do that Dobbs can't? There would be much more preparation for Dobbs than Worley. Truthfully I don't see how the passing game could get any worse with Dobbs in there. He can just make the throws Worley cant and hasn't been able to after 8 games. If I'm Pinkel I am preparing for Dobbs, jmo

I wasn't necessarily saying Worley>Dobbs. I was addressing the fact that people had already written him off and had Dobbs without a doubt starting without any confirmation.

Look up a good religious definition of the word "providence".
