How does a guy tweet with one thumb?

There's lots of things you can do with just one....err...never mind.

Saw Worley in Class today and his thumb is in a cast. He's not starting Saturday. Looks like it's Dobbs moving forward.

Was it a cast or a removable brace/splint? What did it look like?

The more I think about his initial injury and symptoms (including the gloves he was using to help with grip), the more I think he may have had gamekeeper's thumb or skier's thumb. Both are tendon injuries that can cause pain and loss of grip even when they're strains rather than tears. However, the second injury/aggravation during the Bama game looked far more impact based and could've either torn a tendon that was already strained or even caused a fracture.

It's funny how those who wanted Dobbs all along have completely jumped on his bandwagon as the greatest QB ever...he played one half and it wasnt great...it was ok...Ferguson had been 2nd on depth chart for a reason...lets wait to see how Dobbs does in a full game before we annoint him G.O.A.T.

Maybe he deleted it because CBJ doesn't want MO to know right now who they need to prepare for. Of course if they read this messageboard I guess they just found out. lol

Another thread says, as a rumor no validity yet, that he will be having surgery on a ligament and be in a hard cast for 4weeks. Again just a rumor at this point but all signs seem to point to this. Wish him luck.

How long would a broken thumb keep him out?

It would depend on a lot of things but usually 4 weeks would be the standard minimum healing time. There's no way to know if he broke it or not or how bad or minimal any fracture might be without seeing his medical records. Even tendon strains like with skier's and gamekeeper's thumb that can heal on their own so long as they're not tears require time to heal and repetitive motion doesn't help.

I don't see how this is a good thing. It's good that everyone has alot of confidence in Dobbs. But Worley was the starter for a reason.

this about an hour ago.

TFWIW but it sounds like change somewhere in his life whether it's at QB or something else.

I recall seeing him on the sideline and Riley Ferguson comforting him. While I could be reading too much into it, Worley had a look on his face that told me he knew -- it was heartbreaking to see that look. I still think Worley has tons of potential in a lot of areas but he's going to have to work even harder to develop it. The prior staff really hurt him, imo. I still believe he can do well here although he may or may not be the starter.

He had his chance, but Dobbs looks like the real deal, think we got us a QB FOR THE NEXT 3 and half years.

Nick Stephens said the same thing

Worley showed a lot of grit, hustling for a first down, he was really moving, didn't look slow at all, and then fight off 2 blockers to make the tacle on the interception, excellent effort

He is the next QB and he is going to be good. Get over it. He was recruited to run it. Ferguson wasn't. Ferguson was a Dooley recruit and CBJ simply honored his scholarship. You will see soon that a few Vol fans simply understand football, players, and offensive systems better than others,,, such as yourself. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's annoying how many idiots there are in this forum.

I thought he replaced Todd Helton?

Colquitt started the first game after being patient behind Peyton for four years...he was a RS senior. He then got injured in the very first game, and Helton took over.

Helton got slightly injured against uga....in I think the 4th or 5th game, and told the coaches he wanted to focus on baseball. Only then did Peyton start, and Brandon Stewart still played a lot for several games. I'm not even sure when Peyton started getting all the snaps that year, if ever, but I think it was after the bammer game.

He did but Helton replaced Colquitt.

The point being it's not true that no one was sad about Manning getting the starting spot because it took 2 QBs getting hurt, and Colquitt's story especially was tough since he waited so long to get the starting job only to lose it in about 7 plays.

You mean Shuler and Andy Kelly.
