Worley just tweeted...

There has never been a single word or action from a coach involved with UT to ever indicate that Ferguson was ever ahead of anybody until Saturday when they put Dobbs into the game. This is a fact you have to get through your head. I stated on a post yesterday something that nobody can argue with. Take all the media types and sycophant posters and everything they actually know as to what has been going on inside UT practices after the media is escorted out. And collectively they do not know as much as the worse player on UT's roster. In other words, they didn't know d-squat , but they had to fill up air time and line space with whatever wild speculations they could. Ferguson was never ahead of Dobbs or he would have played Saturday. And no, he wasn't injured so bad they couldn't put him in. If that were the case he wouldn't have been in pads. Period!

Well he was listed ahead of Dobbs on the depth chart.

Every beat writer that has actually watched practices and who takes what reps with what groups. They have repeatedly stated that Ferguson was ahead. As well as posters on TOS. Plus Ferguson warmed-up and prepared to go into a game earlier in the season, but was then not needed.

Beat writers aren't coaches. There is absolutely zero proof that Ferg is better than Dobbs. He very well could be, but until we see how he performs on the field, it's all just hearsay.

The Witch Doctor is back! Always love your posts! Someone was asking for you on another thread yesterday :)

While I don't think this will happen - largely due to CBJ's philosophy/schemes....

But plllllllllllllleeeeeaaaaassssssseee....

Don't do to Dobbs what UT did to Shuler. Don't try and convert a mobile QB into a pocket-passer. Let him roll out and then:

1. Pass down field for a large gain
2. Take the safety pass to the TE or slot for a modest gain
3. Pitch the ball to the RB
4 or run like his arse is on fire.

Please CBJ, don't get too predictable with a talent like that.

Shuler was well coached and in my opinion was the best QB UT ever had up until that point. I would hope someone as good as Cutcliffe could bring him along. Shuler had a cannon and could get the ball down field as well as run with it.

Holloway was pretty good

Worley was National Gatorade Player of the year his senior year in HS. Must have been a pretty good player and can still do the job. Jones wants to win more than any person and he will do what he thinks it takes to win games. Most of these are-chair quarterbacks don't know anything about football and have never seen a practice at Tennessee. They are also the creeps who swore some NFL color person would be our coach.

Brock Berlin was the next NFL First Rounder and and Brantley at UF was much, much higher ranked than Worley out of HS. That doesnt mean anything, some guys peak in HS and just dont have the tools to become elite or even very good. Worley is tough as hell and a great kid, but is limited in his talent, and no Coaching will change that.

Lot of convoluted speculation going on. Ferg dressed and travelled to Oregon because he was ahead of Dobbs. Dobbs plays in Bama because he is ahead of Ferg. Peterman plays against Fla. because Dobbs and Ferg must not be ready and our coaching staff sucks and don't get it. Play calling is vanilla because Worley isn't the QB needed for the scheme. Play book is going to be vanilla because Worley won't be in. I love this Site!
It's great to be A VOL! GBO! :salute:

Does everything really happen for a reason? I tend to think things happen due to a variety of circumstances: prior actions, preparedness, and even some things by chance. Why do people say things happen for a reason, as if some higher power is controlling our every move?

Uhoh, queue the Calvinist v Armenian debate. This could take a while.

Not sure where you're getting any of that as this thread isn't about any battle between the two. However, both Dobbs and Fergy traveled to Oregon.

It's funny how those who wanted Dobbs all along have completely jumped on his bandwagon as the greatest QB ever...he played one half and it wasnt great...it was ok...Ferguson had been 2nd on depth chart for a reason...lets wait to see how Dobbs does in a full game before we annoint him G.O.A.T.

Quote a post where anyone said he's the greatest ever. I'll be the first to agree that they are being a tad ridiculous. Failing the quote(s), I'll say you're being a bit of a drama queen.

You can win Gatorade National Player of the Year without being the best suited college quarterback. The list of players who have won this award the last decade is a who's who of overhyped busts and guys who never made it to the next level, with the possible exception of Matt Barkley. The knock on him coming out of high school was that he was a "system quarterback."

I'm not calling him a bad quarterback, but he's not the most naturally talented guy on the roster.

I find it highly amusing though the "arm chair" quarterback label thrown around about people who one doesn't agree without knowing their background.
