If nothing else good came out of that game, yesterday, we at least discovered that Worley has finally reached SEC caliber status. That was up for questioning, before the season began. Not anymore.

His game is coming on strong lately. What he showed as a Senior in HS (especially that ESPN televised game against Clowney's team), is what we were starting to see, yesterday. It took Peterman coming in and once again, looking like a train wreck, to show just how far Worley has come.

If CBJ can get the OL situation fixed to where they are at least "decent," I think we are a 9-3 team...really do. OL is really the only weakness on the offensive side of the ball. And our defense is pretty stout, for the most part....IF our offense isn't doing a lot of 3 and out's like they did yesterday and against OU.

I must admit...although I ended up in the same place as you...

Those two errant throws at the beginning of the game which BOTH would have been walk-in TDs...showed he STILL needs to improve to be "SEC Caliber"...

Those two throws showed he needs to improve to become SEC Elite. He is definitely SEC Caliber at this point.

I agree about the few errant throws, but you are going to get that from most any QB. He also seems to improving in that area, overall.

Kenny Hill is probably the best SEC QB, by far and he made some bad throws yesterday, as well.

After seeing how much better of a player one year has made Worley, I really really really wish we had him next year. I am very worried about next year's QB situation.

Does that not give you hope that our back ups will be developed just like Worley has?

I've said this probably 10 times but........

Butch coached up Worley. This time last year nobody wanted him as the starter and now he's the man.
Butch will coach up Peterman, Dobbs, or a freshmen. With a much improved O-line. And a much improved running game to take the pressure off the QB
We will be fine at QB.

I also think Hurd's game is coming on strong, too. With a better offensive line, the commentators are probably gushing about Hurd more so than Gurley.

Not taking away from Gurley. He is still the best RB in the nation, at this point, but those 3 and outs wore our defense down, and that's where Gurley thrives.

It's also why Bobo held him out quite a bit in the 1st half. He was saving him for the 2nd half, knowing our defense would start wearing down.

Nevertheless, a 120yd rushing day from a freshman, against a defense like UGA is pretty amazing. He's adjusting to the speed of the NCAA and SEC

I can not wait for next year when Peterman turns it around and all the posters who spewed hate on here come on and say "I knew he'd be grate"

Can't we get through this season before we start worrying about who will play next year?

I don't know about that. I think Dobbs will be the starter, hands down. Peterman will probably get a chance to redeem himself a bit, against Chattanooga, and maybe Vandy. But, Dobbs ceiling is much higher than Peterman's.

To be frank, I thought Peterman was bad enough today for our coaching staff to re-evaluate how many QB's they were going to take in this class. Might as well bring Torrance Gibson back into the picture.

Don't see Peterman staying.

I know that Butch coached up Worley. I just think that Peterman is lightyears behind where Worley was. I really like the guy because he has a great attitude, but at this point in the season, we shouldn't have to bite our nails with nervousness when Worley takes a hit and needs to sit out for a while. You can't tell me that most everyone else on here didn't do the same yesterday.

I'm a huge optimist, so please don't come at me with the nega-Vol stuff. I WANT Peterman to be a great QB because this team needs him to be next year.

I am extremely proud of Justin Worley. Believe it or not, I would take this year's O-line over last year's for the simple fact that this year's line would beat down the gates of hell for Justin. From what I've heard, last year's kinda took charge and dragged him along with them and wouldn't let him be the leader of the team.

There is NO way I would take this year's OL over last years. The numbers just don't lie. We have had more sacks in the first 3-4 games than ALL of last year! Cannot get around that. They HAVE to get better if this team is going to improve much.

I know I'm just a fan, but sometimes we are right (I wanted Sumlin rather than Dooley, when we were in the coaching search following Kiffin's departure)....and I think Mahoney is wrong not playing Blair at LT, Kerbyson back at RT, and Weisman at C or RG.

This OL is just getting beat too frequently.

Greg McElroy: Sun 09:21am Sunday Review 1. Justin Worley is heart and soul of UT 2. Arkansas got passive, played not to lose 3. Laquon Treadwell is 2nd best WR in SEC

Funny how he can say that after Ole Miss was barely beating Memphis 7-3 going into the 4th quarter.

I agree that they're getting beat too frequently. I just think that they have more upside than last year's line. They also have the added bonus of being extremely loyal to our quarterback. Cam Sutton said it best about last year's team. Losses didn't hurt. This year, they do. I love the attitude that Butch has brought to this team.

I wouldn't say nobody. There were several of us on here that believed Worley was the best option all year, yet others were so delusional that they wanted the guy who could only get 5 yards on what, 5 passes, along with 3 turnovers. Or they wanted the guy that took 15 quarters to throw a touchdown pass.

All that want spilled over into this year, too.

I'm all for any Tennessee player to become a good/great player. With Peterman, I just don't see it happening. Then again, I thought Crompton was a lost cause.

As for now, I hope Worley stays healthy and neither one of our backup QBs see the field.

Also showed how screwed we are if we lose Worley for the year. :)

There are plenty of us who didn't take this long to notice that Worley is an SEC caliber qb. Better late than never I guess. Welcome to the party.

You act like Gibson is eagerly awaiting our call...he's Ohio State's to lose...but end up at Appalachian State. :)

No. No hope for Peterman imo. Just is what it is. Dobbs showed me enough as a true freshman to have belief that he can and will develop into a good SEC QB. That being said, hope either Dormady or Jennings proves to be a prodigy
