I used this post in another thread But i think This is a great topic. Who is the worst College football fan you know and what makes them such a bad fan. I Know they're are some crappy fans out their and I'm sure they're are some great stories to be told.

I got a friend who is a miami fan. He's ridiculous, You never hear him sayin anything about Miami unless they win 9-10 games a season. I watched more miami games last year than he did. J. Harris threw 17 int last year and all of a sudden he is the Heisman favorite?!!! he blasted UT about the Dooley hire because of his losing record at tech yet Randy shannon is only 4 games over .500 in 3 yrs at miami and 5 yrs before shannon, Coker was 43 games over .500. But shannon is a great coach and Dooley isn't Head coach caliber.

And when i mention the fact that miami only avgs 50,000 per home game his response is " well thiers alot to do in Miami besides watchin football". And i honestly think that as long as MIAMI Players are showing out in the NFL he could care less that they the Team Under-achieves in college football.

Best of all though, When college basketball season started I was talkin trash about how the Vols were Ranked and Miami wasn't even on the Radar. His Response" Oh i don't like Miami Basketball, Just football, In basketball I cheer for DUKE"

Worst fan ever

Your friend, he's really no different than the majority of most living, breathing Hurricane fans out there.

Let me guess....chances are he didn't attend one class at Miami and doesn't bother to go to games in spite of the general availability of tickets.

Even worse. He was born and raised in TN and hates the vols. It takes everything I have not to kick his *** during football season

i pretty much can't stand "fans" of multiple colleges depending on the sport being played. it just seems a little too easy to not be accountable as a fan for your university. such as most of us live and breath everything ut. just because the basketball team struggles i will in no way say, "oh well, at least duke is playing good." i just could not have it any other way. ut is my collegiate team. period. win or lose. it just seems like an easy way for people to bandwagon and not feel ashamed or for an individual to never embrace a loss because they always cheer for the winners at the time.

to answer the op's question i have a good friend who grew up in columbus and is a huge ohio state fan. let's just say i got a kick out of it when they get curb stomped. he is knowledgable and is not an ignorant fan except for the fact that he thinks osu is going all the way every year. so he is a good fan that cheers for an annually crappy team. at least he stands by them.

sorry i just had a thought and felt like speaking my mind. carry on and go vols.

Can't really say that there's a fan out there that would get my vote. I have a buddy who's a Miami fan who never shuts up about them, but, he's cool.

I know a fan that simply makes up facts when he gets into an argument. When you try to refute those facts, he denies anything you say and sticks to his completely fake arguments as truth. I don't know if he's the worst fan, but it's a pain to discuss football with him.

I don't have one particular fan in mind but just a few examples of fans that I find incredibly annoying:

Yankees Fans - no need to go into detail here.

Ohio St Fans - see above

Friends that all of a sudden decide to cheer for a random team - I had a room mate while at UT who was a great high school friend of mine, love him like a brother. But one year, he decided to like the Blue Jays - the freakin' Blue Jays! Are you kidding me! He tried to justify it by telling me that the Blue Jays had a farm team in Knoxville like a billion years ago, and he went to their games (probably like one). So for a solid year or two I was bombarded with useless Blue Jays knowledge and about how they won back to back world series when we were in like 2nd grade. He even went so far as to purchase a Blue Jays hat, which he never wore once. And there was the always entertaining line of "Man, I hope the Blue Jays play the Braves this year so I can see them play." Yeah, that plan surprisingly never came to fruition. Gaaahhh! Moving on.....

Did I mention Ohio St. fans?

Fans of newly successful teams - Okay, here's the deal. My entire family is from Louisiana and some of them, a small number, have put in their time and paid their dues as Saints fans. These are the people I am happy for. The Saints were an embarrassing franchise for the better part of half a century. They were a laughing stock and were barely tolerated in their own city before Katrina. Then the hurricane comes, and I get it. It's a great story. Team survives horrible storm, lifts ailing city's hopes. Great story, New Orleans deserved this. But every person out there now who is like "i've always been a Saints fan," or blatantly says that they became a fan after Katrina should get their daiquiri thrown in their face. Only the most hard core fans, who've stuck with a franchise for the crappy first 40 years of their existence should be first in line for the bragging rights. Not some spoiled little brat who went to Tulane for 4 years and got mommy and daddy to buy her super bowl tickets. They should have been issuing tattoos to pre-Katrina season ticket holders to identify them as real fans, and the ones who deserve to be congratulated along with the team. Because pre-Katrina Saints should probably go down as one of man kind's most horrible crimes and if you stuck with them through that, bless your soul.

I have a friend that tells me that Florida's football team has fewer arrests than Tennessee's every year.

Georgia fans. Some of my "friends" (who are obnoxious which is why i put them in quotes) contently talk about how UGA football every years will be winning the SEC and going to the national title. One even had the nerve to tell me at the start of last season Joe Cox would win the heisman. None of them liked baseball until UGA went to the World Series last year. None of them liked Basketball until UGA won the SEC Tourney a couple of years ago and then proceeded to suck the next year and so they didnt pay attention.

These same friends ave also jumped on the Hawks and Falcons bandwaggon the ast years to. I dont like the NBA but Im a huge Falcons fan and it pisses me to see them all-of-a-sudden become huge Falcon fans when they went to the playoffs 2 seasons ago and i've endured years of immense frustration to be able to enjoy a season like that.

Then how come "The U" has such crappy attendence at thier home games? I mean the stadium holds more than 60,000 yet miami only had 1 game in 2009 with attendence over 55,000!!!. Neyland draws more fans than that at our orange and white game.

its just the way it is here...call it fairweather or bandwagon but if your not winning, miami fans usually wont go...the miami heat sold out when shaq and wade were winning..now....ehhh...miami will never sell out a noon or 3:30 game....but they always do well in primetime games...the oklahoma game was rocking..
