In my opinion, the score did not indicate just how bad the Vols were last.

I don't think there is any doubt we played worse than in any game this season.

With that said, I think this was our worst game since the Kentucky debacle in '11.

What say you?

Overall just a horrible game. Everything bad that could happen to a football team, happened to us last night. Turnovers, dropped passes, penalties, and busts in coverages. We hurt ourselves and basically gave this game away to Mizzou. I fully expect Butch to get this team re focused this week for our home game this weekend against Auburn.

Unfortunately, we have had so many bad losses lately that its hard to say that this is the worst loss since (fill in the blank). On a bright note, I thought Dobbs showed some promise. Yes, he certainly made some mistakes, but he also had two perfectly thrown touchdown passes that were simply missed by the revievers (North and Smith). If those two passes are caught (as they should have been) he also would have finished with over 300 yards passing. He will continue to improve, and hopefully our revievers will stop dropping passes. Remember, Even Peyton struggled some during his true Freshman year.

I like Dobbs. He will improve. But where did Croom disappear to, and why did they keep Josh Smith in the game when he consistently drops perfectly thrown passes, and when he does catch one, seems inept at turning upfield to gain yards? Why is Lane not given more snaps? Why is the defense not getting any penetration? On and on the questions can go, with no apparent adjustments/corrections by the coaching staff.

Yea, it sucked alright. Can't expect to stay in a game on the road after turning the football over so many times. I think the defense might have kept us in the game if the offense had made the trip. I suppose after the third or fourth turnover the "D" just said..."what's the point." Hard to stay motivated when the "o" is giving the game away.

JMHO

North did not miss the pass that was thrown in his direction - it was badly overthrown - quit saying North missed it. Horribly inaccurate and unfair to North.

If it hits or goes between your hands you should have caught it. North is a great player but he missed that one.

it's hella easy to turn the ball over when you are hurried cause your oline can't stop no one nor can your defence dobbs may as well played by himself lastnight....did you not see the 33yrd rush...that to me pretty much said screw it ill do it myself

Nope, that ball was right on target and North missed it. Watch the replay; it went right between his alligator arms. There were certainly some other passes that were overthrown, but not that one. North is a great player, and he has already made and will continue to make great plays, but he just missed that one. It happens to the best. I saw Welker drop one from Peyton a couple of weeks ago.

Worst games:

1: OR
2: Bama
3: Mizzou
4: FL

Granted we had to take a step back to get our new QB acclimated, but that wasn't an excuse for the running game to take the week off. Oline played perhaps worse game all year/tie with Florida.

Defense got gashed for some huge plays mainly due to missed assignments but I didn't see them quit and they were tired.

No it wasn't. North lost it in the lights and didn't even know where the ball was. The ball would have been on the money if North hadn't lost it in the lights. The ball was where it needed to be.

Those games prove you can't beat BCS talent with FBS talent.

i agree that was the worst the vols have played all year. maybe bama had an even bigger effect than we know if. not looking forward to auburn. IMO if we play like that the score will look even worse.

bright spots are dobbs was incredibly composed for a true freshman starting away in a conference game. i think he did better than worley would have if you worley were just now starting. makes you wonder why we didnt just put dobbs in the first game and let him work up to the craziness in our schedule.
