The Falcons Suck

As for the streak coming to an end last year...it was just soooo close to continuing. Really, if Kasay had missed that field goal at the end of the N.O. game, the Falcons would have won. Of course Atlanta would be the team to end the streak.
All curses aside, I just see the Saints winning the division this year.

Ah, your awesome blog that nobody reads. You can immediately identify your especially provocative, insightful posts because they get one comment rather than none.

I particularly loved how you called out the Falcons a couple of months ago for having one of their players get in a fight about some posting on Facebook. Considering, you know, that your team employed Rae Freaking Carruth, who HAD A HIT PUT OUT ON HIS PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND.

I'm pretty sure that I never said the Falcons were the only team who had ever picked up a thug. It just seems like the only stories to ever come out of Atlanta are about the thugs...or else Matt Ryan flirting with dudes.
You're not going to hurt my feelings about the blog, though. I take 15 minutes during my lunch break every now and then to update it with my buddy who sits next to me (a Bucs fan).

In other NFC South news...the Bucs just released offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski.
Weird!

Uh, not at all. Maybe those are the only stories that the Maryville Weekly Shopper likes to run.

I can understand why you're bitter about Matt Ryan. If my team had the moldering corpse of Jake Delhomme throwing five interceptions in a playoff game while another team in the division had the best young QB in the game, I'd be bitter too.

Jake Delhomme was the 7th best QB last year. Until your guy gets you to a Super Bowl and a few conference championship games...then we'll not be letting you talk smack. How about, until your boy throws a single TD against Carolina, then we'll be not letting you talk smack. I love that people try to slam Carolina for their playoff performance when their team wasn't even still alive at that point.
That's like a Tennessee fan making fun of South Carolina for sucking so badly in their bowl game last year. At least they were there.
Vince Young had a good rookie season too. Don't count your chickens man.

Also, don't bag on the Maryville Weekly Shopper. That's a brilliant publication.

If you offered 32 NFL GMs the choice between Ryan and Delhomme right now, how many of them do you think would pick Delhomme?

My team lost to the Cardinals by six points in Arizona. Your team got frogstomped by the same team seven days later, at HOME, thanks to the worst playoff performance by a QB of all time. If you want to claim that that extra seven days makes up for what a miserably embarrassing beatdown that was, then go ahead.

The blog is retarded. Especially the nonsensical "Reasons I hate the Falcons" part.

I will give you the point on the Dirty Bird. But, the part about the Dome being depressing? Apparently you have never been there.

Also, the part about being afraid of getting murdered in Downtown Atlanta is ridiculous. True, if you are looking for trouble, there are places that you can get hurt. But overall the downtown area is nice, I take my kids to Falcons games all the time.

I have been to a game in Atlanta. It was a few years ago, and granted, the team wasn't very good that year, but the atmosphere was just awful. It reminded me of going to a football game at MTSU. A few people were there, but it seemed like they were there just to socialize and "boo" their own team. My buddy and I really did look at each other in confusion on a few time during that game because the fans were so bad. I didn't understand how an NFL team could so little support in it's home stadium.
I'm sure it's different this year but still, I'd pull for the Cowboys before the Falcons.

I don't like the Dome much myself. It's fine for the SECCG, I guess, but it's really annoying to be standing outside the Dome on a gorgeous fall Sunday afternoon, soaking in the beautiful Atlanta weather, and then have to go sit in a room all afternoon to watch the game. I'd almost certainly be a season-ticket holder if the Falcons played in an open-air stadium. With the weather this city has, it's ridiculous that the football team plays in a dome.

I agree with you on that point. If i had to choose i would choose an open air facility.

I just needed to read this again to confirm that Jake Delhomme was the 7th best QB last year. That playoff game was a fluke, right?

Actually I probably need to shut up, because he'll probably throw four TDs against the Falcons' questionable defense this Sunday.

Guess not....:dunno:

How does winning a game against a struggling team prove your point? The stats behind my "dome teams are soft" comment were that only twice has a dome team won a Super Bowl. Beating a team with a banged up d-line and secondary (not to mention the fact that they are QBed by Jake Delhomme) hardly proves your point.

There are 6 true dome teams in the NFL. The fact that only two have won Super Bowl's is not because they are soft....Its because there are far less of them than outdoor teams. Not to mention Dome teams didn't even exist in the first 50 years of the NFL. "Dome team's are soft" is an idiotic statement.
