Piggybacking off of worst play by play thread...

I know many will say Danielson, but...

Brock Huard is the worst, IMO. He loves to hear his own voice and inserts the stiffest, most unnatural sounding comments every chance he gets. And he seems to be a dumbass.

A close second is Jesse Palmer. When he first went on the air, his tie looked like an eight year old's clip on. Like Huard, he says stupid stuff just to hear his voice.

These two make me wonder if these idiots think they're getting paid $X per word.

GBO!

I'm hard pressed to think of a single good one any more. They all fall in love with their own voices and never take a breath, and most of the 'analysis' ends up simply telling you what you just saw. It all ends up being endless mind numbing blather that only stops for commercial breaks.

They all babble on about nothing at all just to keep their lips moving as if they're getting paid by the word.
Each one is worse than the other.

Just 20 minutes ago, I had to listen to Joe Tessitore yell "Roll T*de!" after an Alabama intercepted a Kentucky pass, so right now it's Joe Tessitore.

Overall though, I don't know. A lot of the new blood ESPN announcers all sound the same; if I knew their names, I might pick one of them too. Rod Gilmore? Beth Mowins? I don't know, someone in that bunch. They're all trying to hard to be the show, when the truth is they don't really need to be.

The threshold for true "Awful Announcer" greatness will always be Mike Patrick. He's the measuring stick. If I'm judging the awfulness of an announcer, the gold standard is Mike and his "Holy Cow" after every play.

He said color commentator but I will agree that main announcer Joey T is by far the most annoying.

Probably ABC's Bud Wilkinson, sitting in the booth with Chris Schenkel, or perhaps Frank "Coach" Broyles, at the desk with Keith Jackson, I wouldn't even credit Gary Danielson as much as bad color, he's just not an objective broadcaster, he's a typical biased and opinionated former athlete, in a television position, he is not even closely capable of managing or succeeding, glad to see CBS out and away from America's premier college athletic conference.
