Would Greg Schiano work at Michigan?

He would do very well there. He took Rutgers to heights they hadn't seen in a while. Look at Rutgers since he has left and that is all you need to know.

I certainly think he could. Surprised there hasn't been more talk about him. He's clearly one of the top candidates out there and, I would think, a guy Michigan would have obviously contacted before Butch Jones (if you are to believe that they contacted him, which I don't).

I always thought he would replace Paterno at Penn St, until the scandal happened. I seem to remember he was not well regarded by the Bucs players. If I was a Michigan fan, I would not feel too confident on how this coaching search is going.

1. They have an interim AD who has never done this before.

2. Football Scoop is saying they are being told they would have to wait on an answer from Harbaugh until January, risking their signing class.

Those two combined seem like a recipe for disaster. This type of luck seems like something only we would be able to experience.

@Gil_Brandt: My wildcard for #Michigan is Greg Schiano, might even be front-runner. Will get excellent recommendations from high-powered #NFL coaches

Didn't want to create a new thread on this guy. Football Scoop is reporting Pitt is reaching out to Schiano about its "soon to be open" coaching job.

Seems like a good fit.
