Monte would just step down if it came to be that no one thought he was helping. He always has seemed to be an all around good guy. Plus, depth is definitely an issue if you are trying to use the Oregon game as an example. You basically need talent three levels deep if you want to stay with them. It is time for people to realize that USC was just plain overrated to begin the year.

I'm certainly no Lane apologist, but there's no way they were ever going to win a NC after those sanctions. Even if you recruit well (which they have), you don't have the depth to compete week in and week out well enough to win 12 or 13 games.
