IF we played this game at home, with the crowd noise possibly rattling Murphy into making some key mistakes....

IF Peterman didn't stay in as long as he did...

If we capitalize on that first possession, on the bad snap to the punter....

Would we have won this football game today?

I think so...If you had told me that we would turn the ball over 7 times, on the road in the Swamp, I would never have thought it would be as close as it was.

Perhaps, but there's no point debating what ifs. It's just an endless circle. I'm not pleased with the outcome today but I thought we showed some progress and I'm hopeful about the future of the program with CBJ.

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

I agree, but I'm just looking for something to take away from this game. I think our record is exactly what we thought it would be, after 4 games. I didn't think we had a shot of beating Florida. But we did have several shots at it. We just didn't capitalize.

I also regret that 2 posters who responded, didn't seem to have the sense to understand what I was saying, and felt the need to post senseless comments.

If we just had a little QB play today I feel like we would have won this game. We kept shooting ourself in the foot. I can't believe we turned the ball over as many times as we did.

Worley may have found himself in this game.
Then again, could be wishful thinking.

If we would have capatilized on turnovers, not turned the ball over and ran the ball down their throats we win. Florida's D is good and our offense is putrid

What if we called a more conservative offense when we were in field goal range down 10-7? There was no need to put pressure on Peterman to throw a pass. Let the famed O-line show some run blocking. If that fails, still a tie ball game and momentum swings back to the Vols.

I thought the progression was good from start to finish. I'm very disappointed in the offensive line. I honestly think playing younger guys if we have any on the line should happen. Light a fire. These boys are not coming off the ball with any pride. I also think that we need an I formation. I miss the fullback. That being said. I told my dad that I just want to see progression from game one to game twelve. I want to see guys getting better unlike under Dooley. I think we are seeing it. Go Vols.

That game was ours to get up by 3 scores in the first half. QB play killed us. Simple as that.

What happened to playing disciplined and error free football they kept talking about from day 1 they were hired?
And how about that best bearcat staff in America - offensive game plan and adjustments was an absolute joke for second consecutive game, and defense was as bad and undisciplined as it ever was (including under Sal).
Chaney and Pittman should have been retained and o-line would be playing a lot better under their system - you could clearly see that in the fourth quarter when we stopped trying the spread nonsense for couple of series - actually looked a little better and gave Worley some time to throw.

There are too many IF's every game. If I could do away with the IF's Tennessee would be 13-0 every year.

I am just going to be totally honest here. I like Butch and want him to make it as our HC. However, this team is making the same silly, stupid, insane type mistakes that the last 5 UT teams made; during which time they lost more games overall than they won. They are embarrassing the program, school, and its fan base game after game.

You could tell from Butch's attitude on the sidelines that he is over the top angry with it all. These players are mismatched to his system. They are also headcases for the most part. Yet, with all of that there were individual players that did really well. Hopefully Butch can build something with them and add some more. A huge shout out to Michael Palardy for one. Proud of your perseverance and performance.

UF survived a disaster quite well because of our problems, not because of anything they did exceptionally well. They found a QB, we still have not. It really would not have mattered if Worley started. The O-line was getting whipped in the first half. We were just lucky they kept messing up or it would have been worse.

The sad thing is: Florida very beatable right now but that will change once Muschamp is replaced.
