Would things get worse if Holly stepped down mid season?

I'm honestly lost for words about the state of this program right now. Every team is playing a zone against us because we can't do anything to beat it. This was Florida all over again. Towards the end everyone was timid to shoot and passing the ball like a hot potato (the best ball movement all night). We were playing scared. Holly was completely out coached tonight.
Holly stepping down would probably be the only way to get a new coach. Hart could care less about a women's team. If a new coaching staff stepped in mid-season would the players buy in?

Holly won't step down. She's in over her head-- and she probably knows it-- but she's not going to go voluntarily. It's Hart's move.

Unless maybe the players literally quit. Even then, we might could put together a team of walk-ons. When you shoot 20 percent a game, it don't get much worse than that.

Bring in Tyler. It can't get any worse so why not give him a shot. Pat was pretty young an inexperienced when she got her call.

Dave Hart and TN should pull a Pat Haden and USCw. Fire her when she arrives at the airport. Let her call a cab to get home. Sick of this crap.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news folks but it is going to get a whole lot worse. Holly's not going anywhere anytime soon. Heck, her contract was extended. Hart's not going to pay her buyout. It would be comical if it wasn't so depressing.

The game was in its infancy--there were few programs, even fewer good programs. We got a jump on everybody in the way that North Carolina got a jump on everybody in that sport. Today, the game is far more competitive; you need a very good coach and staff. We need a proven winner.

She should be embarrassed!! Please walk away and stop this sickness.. Thompson-Boling will look like the Arky arena looked tonight and it's sad as a life long VFL/LVFL!! :-(

Holly was a great player and a great assistant coach, but all the positive things she did at UT are going to become overshadowed by her shortcomings as a HC. Not every assistant is HC material. It would be better for everyone-- including Holly-- to let her go before she loses all respect and goodwill, while running the program, her reputation and her legacy into the ground.

Of course, that won't happen. Hart's not going to pay her buyout, and she will become as reviled as Dooley if the LV continue to tank.

Everybody can see it but the people involved don't want to see it. She is not a good head coach, the continual bad play and lack of discipline concerning turnovers. The passive play on offense and defense and the overall disfunction as a whole is telling. One day Tyler will return, it may not be right now but at some point. Heck I would be willing to let him learn here, I guarantee you he we would be demanding better effort and hustle. There is nothing this team does well but turn the ball over. We are underachieving at a record clip.

She admitted in one of her press conferences that if she knew what to do to fix it, then she would.

Do not let her go at mid season. I have seen many times when a program started slowly but finished stong at the end of the season.
If we get hot, we can win the S.E.C. tourney and make a strong run in the NCAA. I doudt it but at least let her get thru the season. Meanwhile, secretly, start putting feelers out to see who would be interested in the job. This way, you have a short list of interested candidates even before she is gone.

I've said it before and will repeat: Dave Hart won't fire Holly due to finances. His crazy dismantling of the Lady Vols athletic department and ensuing lawsuits have cost UTK mega bucks. Holly won't retire.

The only recourse will be an empty TBA, as much as this admission breaks my heart. Hart may have to move the games back to Stokely or Alumni ... oh wait, they no longer exist. Maybe Bearden Middle School will lease for little $$.

Sad state of affairs. I've touted the return of Tyler but wanted him to have enough time to gain experience as top dog at La Tech, one tough assignment.

She should have already been fired but we know it will not happen!

I have talked with many fans and we all agree the program is in total disarray. What a shame for this problem and all the loyal fans who have filled the Summit.

Yes, Holly should leave immediately and we do whatever it takes to save the Lady Vols!!

:hi:Hart needs to make a move now. Send a complaint directly to the UT Athletic Office...enough complaints will force him to move. LadyVols basketball has been profitable, but will soon be come a money looser...then Hart will be forced to move. Think about this 25 turnovers last night alone with DeShields having 7 alone. Its been near 20 vitually every game. Summit would have benched some players, thrown them out of the locker room and probably refused to let them wear orange. We have absolutely no committed players for 2016-17 and had 4 topnotch players (3 post) refuse UT...why something is wrong.

Hart has already said in a previous press conference that he was having to talk HW off the ledge. There's no doubt that the program is in a state of panic. Heck, everyone is shook up right now. We've never seen a Lady Vol team this bad/inconsistent. Hart better fix it quick, and the only way is to bring in a big time coach. I hate it for HW. She has given a lot to UT, but on the flipside, UT has given her a lot. He's got to let her go after the season. He should already be recruiting the next head coach. Lady Vols BB is big business, and UT can't afford to kill the brand.
