For not doing anything? You can say he improved our roster, but from the looks of it, he may leave it about the same as it was. Dooley is not a man if he actually takes that money and runs.

It was a contract agreed by both parties. But i know what you mean.

Btw, how is Bend?

Dooley is a lawyer - what do you think he will do?

But, he may have breached his contract. In the last minute of regulation, didn't he quit and let the clock run out?

Bend is absolute paradise. Plus, people respect Tennessee out here, and i always wear my orange. No matter what.

On this topic though, i feel like Doomey could make a man move and make a deal or something. I cant help but feel he would leave here like a dog with his tail tucked between his legs.

Blame Hamilton and Co who gave him a 5 million buyout when he was not an established Head coach we had to sign. It is like a CEO 'golden parachute' that so many have taken when the company they head falls apart and they are given the 'boot'

I say give him 30 seconds to decide to take the money or Quit. Odds are he would Quit and owe us money.
Just a thought

How can you say that he is not a man if he takes the money? Anyone in their right mind would take the money. I mean think about it you are pro never going to get the opportunity to get a big time coaching job again. Why not take it? I would and i would bet that if you were in front of 5 million bucks you would to you can say you wouldn't take it all you want but until you are in that situation you never know. Thats like saying lets go break into this bank and not take any of the money. He would pro like to keep his job and earn the money but he won't just walk away from 5 million dollars he is a lawyer for god's sake

Hell yes I would take the money!...And moon everybody as I walked out of the office!

Pretty sad bro. But the sad reality is that Doomey will take this money without doing one damn thing or winning one significant game.

It would be a bold gesture to even settle on a couple mil after what he has made already.

Kinda pisses me off really, and the guy should lose all respect from any organization if he accepts so much money for the job he's done here. Regardless
of whatever dumb contract exists.

A contract is a legal document. UT has no choice but to pay him. It's not like you can get a refund on what you paid for game tickets if we lose.

I wasnt arguing whether we had to pay him or not. I was just saying that if Dooley were a real man, he would take less and move on.

Yes especially considering he could have stayed at Tech and continued getting paid for who knows how long. The job he did here may be a career killer for him. One thing is for sure there will be no more big payday's for Dooley in football for a long long time. I honestly doubt he gets another head coaching job.

TN had to pay Phil 6 million because he became too lazy to coach, now 5 million to Dooley because he can't coach.

11 million for nothing ... Unreal.
