If there's enough interest, I'll run this for basketball season. It's more fun to play with real cash, but we can't do that with a bunch of people I don't know. You can pick up to two options in the poll. But don't pick both "yes" and "no".
Basketball Stocks Game
1. All SEC teams will be represented and available for selection
2. Prices will be based on the teams previous year's win total
a. At the end of the year the win totals will be compared to the price at which you "bought" a team/mutual fund and a final price will be determined
b. Example: Tennessee won 25 games last year. If they win 26 this year, your score will be 1. If they win 20 games, your score will be -5
3. Pick at least three teams or mutual funds, but no more than five
4. All players have a total of 50 points to use
5. You don't have to use all 50 points
a. Any unused points will be held in a reserve to be used later
6. Prices of the teams may change throughout the year based on pick volume and current success
7. At certain points throughout the year (to be determined by me), players will have the opportunity to
sell one of their picks at the price that team/mutual fund is at the time
a. There will be a 1 point fee for sells and buys after the initial purchase
8. Reserved for future use
9. If anything weird happens throughout the season, (cancelled games, schedule shift, etc) I will be sole arbiter of how to fairly proceed. The appeal process is as follows:
a. STFU
b. You were probably going to lose anyways
10. Mutual Funds are groups of teams you can buy and their win total will be averaged to determine the price
SECW - All the teams in the SEC West for football
SECE - All the teams in the SEC East for football
$h** - Ala**** & Auburn
TenVan - Tennessee & Vanderbilt
Ole State - Ole Miss & Miss St.
AHoles - All the SEC teams that start with an "A"
Blue - All the SEC teams that wear blue
Red - All the SEC teams that wear red
FTB - The teams I hate the most Ala****, Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, LSU
Total - All the teams in the conference
11. The two exhibition games at the beginning of the season don't count
12. Post season tournament games will count
