His comment when asked what he thought about Eli being on SNL:

"I wonder if they are going to do a Rainman skit."

Honorable mention: Tim Tebow in his monk haircut phase.

Regarding Skip, once it was proved by Jalen Rose that he lied to make a point, he should have been fired or at least suspended. I can't believe ESPN didn't take that more seriously.

He's just there to cause controversy and stir the pot a bit (whether the reasons be logical or not)

Not sure why this would get him fired above other things

This almost certainly increased ESPN's viewers. So. He's not leaving.

Lying on the air on any channel that holds itself out as a news outlet should be viewed as grounds for termination.

Only problem is those are opinion shows, not news programs.

It's like Glenn Beck's old show on Fox. Since it wasn't an actual news program (despite many viewers thinking it was) he could lie and make outlandish claims all he wanted and be safe. Skip does his job very well.

Make people hate me and watch. Lose occasionally so people watch.

Why fire someone who makes your network money when he's just playing a character to begin with? Let's fire Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert for making jokes basically. (even though their news is actually... fairly accurate and reaches a massive audience, but still my point.)

I don't see how they have any ratings when he is on. I listen to Mike and Mike everyday and for some reason he was filling in the other day so I found something else to listen to. I can't stand him. He is not the only one at ESPN that needs to be canned but IMO he is by far the worst.

If you view espn as a news channel other than to get scores and highlights...I feel sorry for you... :ermm:

I said that ESPN "holds itself out" as a news outlet. And, that being the case, lying on the air should be considered a very serious matter.

It's ok to make jokes and to state outlandish opinions.
It's not ok for station employees to back up their points by lying.

It's beyond me at this point why anyone gives a show that includes Skip Bayless the time of day.

rofl! I guess i am in the minority because i love listening to skip. He is ESPN's version of comedy central. I think some of you guys are taking it a little too serious. The whole show is opinion based and the simple solution to not seeing skip is to change the channel lol. And ftr, the other poster nailed it on the head because i would never watch that show if skip wasn't on it.

If you enjoy the show, it's your prerogative to watch it. I just would have trouble taking anything Skip says seriously when I now know he's not above making stuff up to support his argument. His lack of credibility makes him unwatchable, to me, and if he's the only one on the show who's entertaining, then that show is sinking.
