As a student in one of the most liberal programs (philosophy), in one of the most liberal cities (Boston), at one of the most liberal institutions (Boston University), I have yet to hear this preached either in class or on campus.

3. I already have an accounting degree to fall back on if I do not get hired on as a professor.

4. I have plenty of years of leadership and management experience in high stress situations (combat as an infantry officer) on my resume.

Because being accountable as an Army Officer does not in anyway predispose me to be able to be accountable in the business world, right?

of course I understand that being a philosophy professor would be the easier job to BS your way to tenure.

It would be the way to do what I enjoy and make enough money to get by and raise a family.
