'25 WR Zachariah Branch (Georgia commit🤮)

4.35 40 speed and 10.33 100M speed. Definitely very shifty. A little confused why he isn’t more productive with those attributes. Most of his catches seem like they are short throws and I can’t tell why. Mabye the USC scheme but I’d kinda expect a player like this to be open deep pretty often.

I’d feel really good about Mike Matthews and him as our top 2 WR’s excited for Staley too and it’s not the end of the world if we don’t get Branch but definitely a guy we should continue trying for.

USC’s offense was anemic this year after the first couple of games. Idk how the hell they came back to beat A&M.

I saw something about their offensive line being ranked 14 out of 18 teams in the B10. I know moss sometimes had some issues I’m going to look into it some more tho.

Production in team sports is influenced greatly by the talent around you. Just look at Saquon Barkley. He goes from looking decent on the Giants to having the one of the best seasons ever for a running back on the Eagles. If you watched him on the Giants you saw the same talent he's showing now on the Eagles. His production took a quantum leap because he finally has the talent around him to show what he can do. On the Giants he was being held back by a subpar supporting cast.

This is why talent evaluators judge players based on film and not stats. Film tells you how talented a player truly is. While the stat sheet can sometimes lie to you by making a player look better or worse than he really is based on his supporting cast.

I'm not saying Branch is stud. I'm just saying you can't just look at his numbers and say he isn't. Go watch his tape and then tell me he's not good. Don't just tell me you looked at numbers on a page.

Yes that's him. I haven't read that about his speed. But I've watched him play and he is constantly behind the defense and making plays. He is a great route runner and high points the ball well. He might not be the fastest but makes up for it in other areas.

This kid has Tyreek Hill type ability. It's on the coaches to scheme it up to get that type of production. If you can get this kid in space, he's a problem versus any team in the country. You also have to have other viable weapons around him to keep opposing defenses honest. This would be one helluva pick up.
