'25 WR Zachariah Branch (Georgia commit🤮)

Not sure what incentive Tate would have to jump ship when he’s playing for the best WR coach in the country and starting. If he did, I’d have to imagine he’d consider us though.
I have no idea if it is true, but the amount of looks he will get for the next two years at UT will be significantly higher than the looks he gets playing with Jeremiah Smith.

That's why I'm thinking Carnell Tate may be one to jump in. NO ONE is getting more looks at OSU, as long as someone like Jeremiah Smith is walking campus.

But, and I'm assuming, OSU was there for him during the hardest/toughtest time in his life, whenever his mom was killed; so, that's a huge reason he may stay.

A lot of his guys went and stayed in the NFL though. Not sure how many from that class
Irrelevant to the college discussion. Butch didn’t really sign a top 5 class. And anyone trying to use that as a knock on Heupel because he hasn’t is foolish. He barely signed a top 10 class. And if not for the 30 commits, he wouldn’t have.

Who cares about his numbers. Look at his skillset
I haven’t seen him play enough to judge. I’ve only seen this season’s highlights. He looks fast and shifty but it’s tough to tell if he would bring anything that Matthews and Staley don’t bring.

Generally speaking, I’m not a big fan of little bitty WRs unless they are elite route runners. Maybe Branch is and maybe he isn’t. I’m just saying if Tennessee elected to not pay him more than the guys on our roster, maybe it’s because they don’t view him as better than what we’ve got. Maybe he doesn’t block well enough for our scheme or maybe they have their eyes on someone who’s still playing. Who knows.

Pro-Joe Milton argument.

Not even bashing you, I thought Joe caught too much sh*t.
I heard something from Kevin Simon earlier this week when he filled in for Swain.

He was on staff with Heupel his first year. He said he thought Hooker won the job and was surprised when they named Joe the starter. He said Hooker clearly ran the offense and looked better in practice. He said he told Hooker his time will come and keep working.

You can tell it was a bit awkward when he came back from break and perhaps regretted letting this be known

Mercy.
Poor kid.
Chicago is a good place...to get the hell out of. And I bet he was planning to get her out of there with the money he was making. SMH.

I’ve been and hated it. It’s kind of dystopian how it’s ran, like no one gives a **** what’s happening in the south because in the rest of the city it’s sunshine and rainbows. They will the south side to be as big a hell hole as it is.

I'm pretty sure that the rankings, at least in those days, only took into account the top 25 recruits in a class. So oversigning didn't really help the ranking.

That said, I agree with you that those weren't really top tier classes. He signed guys who were highly ranked, but they were poor evaluations...on the part of the staff and on the part of recruiting services. Khalil McKenzie was ranked the #3 overall recruit in America. He wasn't close to that. Kyle Phillips was a 5*, #21 overall player. Nope. Preston Williams. 5*. Overranked. Drew Richmond. Overranked (and I shouted that from the mountain tops on message boards when I saw him play. Dude was NOT impressive at MUS...I'm not sure why I could see that and the website nerds couldn't). Jack Jones, Quinten Dormady, Justin Martin, Sheriron Jones, Micah Abernathy, Quarte Sapp....all 4*s....all overranked.

You're right...that was not a top 5 class in terms of actual talent. But that was as more because they were overrated recruits. As has been said a million times on this board...recruiting rankings are not science. Butch Jones classes are perfect examples of that fact.

The incentive is that Ohio State will be starting a new QB, likely someone who hasn't started before. And he's not gonna be the number 1 as long as Smith is there.
