It's got a Monsters Inc. vibe to it. Looks good. But of course, most Disney/Pixar movies are.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one, just because of its potential.

If done right, it could be the gaming-world's "who framed roger rabbit"

I'm wondering how much actual character crossover there is going to be. From the trailer it may just be a quick cameo here and there.

I mean, if you go back and watch Roger Rabbit, that's really all the Warner Bros and Disney cartoon character appearances really were (as far as that aspect went).

(Apparently though word has been that the creators had already said that the licensing fees /rights to Mario's and Luigi's usage were unfortunately too much for the film's budget...although the director and company, however, also claim that the reality was they couldn't figure out the proper usage for him:

"The hard thing was, we were trying to work out the right way to use a character like Mario. It had to be organic to the film, we didn’t want to just paste him in there,” he said. “For Bowser, it made perfect sense for him to be a member of the Bad Anon group. For Mario himself we couldn’t think of the right way to incorporate him into the film, and so we didn’t do it.”)

I took my two almost three year old son to see it. It was a fun movie. There were a few parts that were scarey to him but he seemed to enjoy it. I enjoyed it myself. It was pretty cool to see some of games they had in the movie. I would say if you go take the movie for what it is and that's just to have fun and enjoy it.

Probably taking my niece when they visit in a couple weeks. Gotta admit it's the one kid's movie I'd want to see.
