WSU vs UCLA

WSU in the Pac 12 is the equivalent of Vandy or Kentucky in the SEC. The man was PAC12 coach of the year and national coach of the year for what he accomplished last year. I guess the voters are all idiots since WSU didn't win the PAC12.

Swap UT players for WSU players but keep the coaching and culture the same and we may not beat UT Chatt.
Take Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Florida out of the SEC and Vandy and Kentucky could regularly post winning seasons. The top of the pac 12 has no equivalent to those four.

Something tells me the wistfulness over Leach will die down here just a bit. They just blew a 32 point 2nd half lead at home to an awful team. Ouch.
The only reason it's a thing to begin with is because Pruitt has been awful this year, and Leach is the proverbial "could have been."

I like Leach, but I've always personally thought he's overrated. This sounds really disrespectful to the programs where he's been, but he's never coached at a place where football is a really big deal. He fields solid, not outstanding, but solid teams at places where they don't necessarily demand or expect it. There's something to be said for that, but there's also this notion that he could come to a big time program (like Tennessee) and would be guaranteed to light it up. I've just never bought into that. His teams also never play defense, and he's never played in a super deep conference either.

I am heartbroken today watching my Vols succumb to the mighty Gators. It really makes me sick.

That said, at least I can watch Mike Leach and the WSU Cougars beat the snot out of the highly overrated Chip Kelly tonight (assuming I am sober enough to stay awake).

I will still watch my Vols every week, but this is heartbreaking. I guess It's what I get for getting my hopes up.

Go Cougs!
Too soon

His offense lit it up at Kentucky when he was the OC and coached Tim Couch to a #1 draft pick.

Four NCAA, 42 SEC, and 116 school records broken as Kentucky's offensive coordinator

Not arguing, just providing a reference point. There is no reason to believe his offense wouldn't work here. It would certainly be more fun then what we are watching now, whether we win or lose these same games. Pair him with a strong DC, resources, and athletes and who knows.

Well, the evidence definitely shows that Leach has been a successful head coach at multiple programs. What evidence was there of Jeremy Pruit being a successful head coach? Yet, here we are.

But he set records at Kentucky.... blah blah blah

Offense would but the minute his defense fell apart he’d be fan fired and that would be it.

I agree with this to an extent. I think if you can get the man to get a good DC though, at a big time place, he could do really well. I wanted Leach badly. Was happy with Pruitt though. I do agree though, the biggest reason this is a thing is because we pretty much had him then Phil stepped in.
