WTF is wrong with school administrators?

This kid should have been praised by the administration as an example of what others could make of their HS experience. Instead they want to shut him down for no good reason.

Lunacy in administration is getting worse and worse.

What's wrong with administrators? Nothing really any different than the rest of the general population. You find this type of stupidity in the private and public sectors...

Yeah, but public school is forced on us....you know, for the kids.

They think they are superior and can bully simply because of the age difference. Many will also bully actual teachers so the students shouldn't feel special.

No different than lots of professions where a little power leads to disastrous results

This. The company I work for recently promoted a guy to plant manager. He's trying to rule by intimidation, and has already fired acouple of men wwho's been there 30-40 years for questioning him. I've seen him in action, and like you said, its pure bullying.

That's exactly it. The truest test of character is how people treat those that they don't have to be nice to. Unfortunately when flawed people meet up with the Peter Principle, this is the kind of crap you get and organizations fall apart.

This is 100% the truth. 2 of the worst bullies as far as teachers/administrators go came out of Maryville HS. Loved to bully students but would cower to a parent. I'm not naming names but anyone who went there knew the former Assistant Principle and Freshman Basketball coach

Meh, it's not unreasonable to contend that a yearbook photographer should be working for the yearbook.

Especially if he's selling pictures he was taking during the time he was supposed to be taking for the yearbook...

As long as he was still allowing use of the images for the yearbook then there shouldn't be an issue.

If the school has an issue with it then they need to amend the handbook for the next year.

Except nobody made that contention. Also, he claims copyright, and the principle did not challenge him on that once he asserted himself. It's just on the school's equipment. It's not on their dime. If I use the school's art room to make $100 painting, do they get a piece?

Seems kinda ridiculous. He's giving their customers (the parents) something they want that the school is not offering.

Same with police/LEO.

This country has a lot of people with low self-esteem.

School administrators are for the most part self selected. There is no leadership development program in our public school system. A teacher who thinks they would be a good leader takes the free tuition to get their principal cert and gets moved into a position whether they actually have skills our not. It is absolutely the worst way to build leaders imaginable yet we continue to let out go on. why would anyone be surprised when one of them does something stupid?
