WVU just hired their interim coach as successor to Rodriguez. One of their bigger boosters, who is managing partner for the Diamondbacks, publicly voiced his displeasure immediately, saying Stewart's in way over his head.

I just don't see this working out very well over the long haul.

That booster might be right . . . but have you heard the sound byte? I don't think it's possible to sound like more of a jerk than that booster did.

I'd love to see it work out and WVU never miss a beat, but when they start out this divided, it just isn't a good sign.

he's clearly a jerk, but how many big cash boosters don't have egos that could choke Goliath.

OU made him look good. We'll see it turns out next season when the honeymoon is over and the day to day grind starts.

Reading about him, I don't think the grind's going to be a real problem. He has experience, but long term lieutenants don't tend to make great generals. He strikes me as a Coker / Guthridge style long term lieutenant.

Guthridge didnt run the program into the ground like Coker though.

He posted a pretty impressive victory when not a lot of people gave him a chance. Why not?

much more difficult in hoops, where one or two guys in a recruiting class can make all the difference.

Additionally, all he did is take out his notebooks from the previous 207 seasons under Smith, blow off the ashes, and employ.

Ken Kendrick and Rich Rod are thick as thieves. He would be ripping the hire if Pete Carroll were coming to Morgantown. I actually give Ed Pastilong credit for making a decision and not ceding his authority to the boosters. That said, he better hope it works out. I heard a writer from one of the West Virginia newspapers on television this morning saying the rank and file fans were actually very happy with news.

fans love the feel good story, until the train crests the hill......

Kendrick definitely came off as a complete pr1ck, but that's very rare on hiring day.

Kendrick's comments made the things I said about Buzz Peterson look like high praise.

if you could get that ridiculous flashing name from your avatar, it would be the best in history.

very good instance of coach getting too much credit for a victory.

I dont know... all the other interim coaches laid an egg. He took a team that when they last took the field, lost to a team with a losing record. Coaches are like QB's in that respect... too much credit for wins, too much blame for losses. He showed he can coach the big game as good as a National Championship winning coach if nothing else.
