"In addition, “party posses” composed of volunteer residents will attend parties, along with other places where underage drinking is likely to take place, to spot and report offenders."

Sound like a tactic the gestapo or kgb might admire?

Still can't suss out what the military's role is here. Are they running info sessions or getting involved in LE?

Is there a military base nearby? Maybe they are cracking down on base? Here in Huntsville there is zero tolerance on base.

It does seem odd they are mentioned though.

The article mentions F.E. Warren AFB. I would imagine the AF is interested in catching underage airmen drinking off-base.

Cuz it makes sense that someone can decide to enlist, put his life on the line, be deployed by his country into a combat zone, but we don't think that same guy is mature enough to buy a beer.

Govt is plain retarded.

It is what is. I can say from experience that the AF takes underage drinking very seriously. Getting caught drinking underage is a sure way to lose rank.
