I couldn't copy and past it because of the frame it was in, but there is a good read on the current qb recruiting situation at The Edge on TonyBasilio.com

Look under "X" on the middle of the page.

Says he doesn't think we will get Heaps or Scroggins, but that he is not concerned because we will get a couple of good ones this year and we want to have one or more committed by early June.

Contrary to some media reports, I believe the Hendrix kid from Cincinnati has legitimate interest in UT. This is a prospect who has seen his stock climb as more schools view his tape and watch him throw during this current evaluation period. Schools like Miami, (FL) and Ohio State highlight a number of high-profile schools now trying to get involved with the prospect. He was on campus for spring drills, attended the Orange and White game, and has an offer from UT.. After the UT staff saw him throw in person, I believe he is firmly in the mix.

IMO I think Marv would hurt us with attracting top QB prospect for 2011 in addition to the QBs we sign for 2010 ( if we sign them) like Netwon, Scriggins, Heaps, or Hendrix.

I just pointed that out in the other Marve thread. I agree.

I'm telling you that Hendrix kid is a great Quarterback, that the staff is really high on. I'll be happy with either 3 QB's. (Heaps, Scroggins, or Hendrix.)

I would take Newton over him to but we really need someone for the class of 2009 cause Nick and Jonathon in my opinion isn't gonna be good and Robert would look good handing the ball of to Bryce B.lol if we don't do decent this year then that would drive recruits away to.

Marve wouldn't be eligible until the 2010 season bro.

Really even if he walks on?

Yes. The walking on thing is because we can't give him a scholarship due to the terms of his release from Miami. It doesn't have anything to do with eligibility. It can be confusing.

Our quarterback situation for this coming season isn't likely to improve.

I wonder why on Scroggins. Heaps I get with the distance plus the BYU attraction. OTOH, Scroggins has a connection and seems to be an almost ideal candidate to step in and start as a FR. Great skills and very smart.

I don't want a QB that does not think he can beat out Marve.

QB competition would be awesome. Those who are too scared or who can't compete say "adios."

Just like our RB core. Stable should be full and the studs should be chomping at the bit to see who will be numero uno.

If a QB is scared to come here because of Robert Marve then we dont want that kid anyways. Being scared of Marve at this point, is crazy.
