Hey guys, I was wondering what ya'll think of Xavier Mitchell. He was a teammate of mine in high school and I have really had that much of a chance to catch up with him except on facebook. Geaux Tigers.

He has not really got major playing time so the jury is still out on him. Should get some more reps in the fall due to loss on the DL.
Played 8 games last season with no starts and logged 11 total tackles and 2.5 sacks

Used to live in Lousey-ana for two years in the Deridder area. When Mitchell was recruited the Tiger fans in my area were happy but not over joyed. They knew of him and told me he gifted athlete but would struggle mentally. Time will tell.

i play DB for my high school team and you don't have to be that smart to play it, you just have to know coverages which isnt hard and have to be fast and be able to jump high and have decent hands, of course there is a difference in HS football and College football.

I hope he does well, he was always a really nice guy, I used to bring him home from practice. He was really interested in LSU, and LSU was interested in him, but he wasn't ready to make a decision, so they moved on. I don't know where they got the idea he was struggle mentally, he's a pretty bright guy, or at least he was in high school.

As thin as the DL is this year. He should get plenty of playing time. Good opportunity for him to establish himself.

Xavier Mitchell is a very good player and the coaches were VERY happy with his play before he was injured last year. Injuries have been a problem, but the coaches really like him and I expect him to be a starter and have a breakout year. Certainly has the talent. He was playing really well prior to his injury.
