X's New Article

Actually, Carson is still listed as a commit but X seems to think Auburn, at least if his word association is to be believed.

Here's a link to Carson's Scout page:

Scout.com: Allan Carson Profile

He's still listed as a verbal...if he were even looking around he'd be listed as a soft verbal...

And everything I've read from everyone but X has Richardson as leaning to us now...everyone I've read besides X thinks he'll end up a Vol

So I think it's safe to say this is another example of X and Basillio throwing baseless BS out there and hoping that it sticks so they can claim they "scooped" it if it comes true

Guys...X writing an article on recruiting is like me writing an article on recruiting...

Yes, he probably follows recruiting very closely but evidence has shown that he doesn't have inside info no matter how much he wants to pretend like he does...therefore anything he writes is baseless conjecture and nothing more...

Don't read this article like it's written from an insiders point of view...he's about as much of an insider as I am

I used to put some stock in what X said, but ever since Dooley took over, his information doesn't seem to be as accurate. Even the way he presents it seems unsure and hesitant. Whoever he is, I just don't think he has the access he had before the regime change. I guess we will see though.

Basilio is a hack and gets on my nerves just as much as anyone...

With that being said, I did not necessarily disagree with too much that he said in the article. I thought he gave the coaches their props where deserved and projected many of the same views and points that have been posted here.

The few in question leave me with these thoughts:

AJ Johnson: X describes him as "shaky" which I would assume since this is a recruiting article means he believes his commitment is shaky. Honestly, I have been worried about UF all along, but it appears that they have recruited over him and I'm not worried about this one.

Allan Carson: X uses the word "Auburn" when describing Carson. While I don't think he is actively looking, nor does he have an Auburn offer at this point (at least last I recall), I think that if Auburn were to offer that we would have a fight on our hands. Honestly, I think the Gabe Wright battle could affect this commitment. If we land Wright, Auburn could pursue Carson and if he sees that we have Wright and Couch on board he may decide to head to the Barn.

Antonio Richardson: Bama has scared me from Day 1 with Richardson, and honestly that hasn't changed significantly. I realize a lot of people lately have stated that they feel good about where we are, and I am not doubting them. But I haven't heard enough from him in either direction to say confidently that he favors UT significantly over Bama. I would like to think that it ends up like James Stone (as so many have stated a billion times on this forum), but at this point I think there is still work to be done with AR.

X gets his recruiting info from message boards. I've seen everything in this article on message boards.

I'll say the same thing I did last post about so called "X", he's pathetic!! He has no idea what he is talking about. I refuse to read his articles.

People I talk to that follow Auburn recruiting closely (not insiders, just fans like us) have never even heard of Carson. He might have some interest in an Auburn offer but one is not coming. Also IMO, he wouldn't switch even if they offered.

This...

X had sources inside the football dept under Kiffin. So did lots of people. Kiffin purposely leaked info sometimes, and other times allowed people to see recruiting boards and made them promise not to tell.

Dooley does not play that game. "Do not do your business in my business." People do not leak for him, and if they do and it is about something important he will can them.

The only statement in his most recent article I strongly disagree with had to do with Florida. He acted like the last coaching staff sucked it up in Florida. I am guessing he means Kiffin and Pahokee, but Eddie Gran had deeper and stronger connections in Florida than Hinshaw can dream of. I like Darin and hope he succeeds, but for X to act like we finally have some connections in FL is hilarious.
