I agree that Sanders did a nice job with not only calling a good game but the offense overall just looked very prepared to play. Not many penalties either.

I just think all of the checking-off at the line from both Schaeffer and Ainge was really impressive to see. Real creative from the coaches, and it showed that our young QBs can see the field very well already.

I think he also did a nice job of calling plays from the sidelines. Very interesting concept to get the team to the line and then have the QB's look over to sanders for the play. And NO delay of game penalties that I remember.

The only problem with that set-up is that in a hostile territory (UGA, etc) it will be way too loud while we are on offense to try to do that. I'm sure they'll have some sort of hand signal system in place by the first road game.

Yes, I agree that it was a well-played game by the offense. However, remember we started off pretty well last year and then it seemed to fall apart. I am enjoying the moment though. Let's hope it continues to improve.

Teams will pick up very quickly on all of that checking off. They won't be able to do much of that against UF.

If you watch close, Sanders was calling the checks into the qbs from the sideline. I was very impressed. Maybe all the negativism that has been leveled at Sanders the last few seasons (me included) should have really been towards Clausen?

Sanders was calling the plays after the defense lined up.... very typical to the way Spurrier used his qbs... Spurrier called all the plays and the checks after the defense lined up.

good point , Clausen has been the only thing Sander's has really had to work with , he's got a good chance to prove the critics(Me included) wrong this season. AS for Clausen I thought he was a good QB (skills and smarts) but I don't think he was any better the day he left UT than the day he got there. He was certainly not a team leader. (in my opinion)

I was thinking about this whole Clausen thing and you guys may be onto something here. Maybe they gave Clausen too much control of the offense and he got us into some bad plays. I liked what I say on Saturday with Sanders calling plays after he see's the defense. Very Spurrieresqe. Guess we will have to wait and see how it works against the Gators but I am very encouraged.

in Clausen's defense we don't know how much of his checking was a decoy and then they ran the original play, man its hard for me to defend Clausen it just didn't feel right with him running the offense (hard to explain) he was sorta like a square peg in a round hole. Something about the chemistry just wasn't there. I like the chemistry this season if they can keep it up.

Players come and go in college football and thats what makes it so exciting, at least when talent comes our way. It sucked when we lost Chris Leak but who needs him when we have these young guys. Bring on the Gators! :rocks:
