Moving off of the CDD firing topic......

Does the next HC get a year zero from the fans?

I.E. We give them2013 as a rebuilding year?

Or do we want immediate success?

Thoughts?

Honestly depends on the hire. A guy who has shown he can win in the past is going to get more leeway. Case in point is Nick Saban at Bama. He lost to ULM in his first season, but his past showed he knew where he wanted to go and how to go about getting there.

Not too sure where the UGA thing comes from. UGA is two wins away from playing for a NC. We're one loss away from going winless in conference play, and will bring most of that team back. Let's set some realistic goals like beating Vandy or Auburn next year.

UT wins at least 2 SEC games. I know I know I am setting the bar pretty damn high.

It's not about drawing a minimum expectations line in the sand for them to cross, it's about a trend line that moves upward as the season goes on. I expect them to make the team better by coaching them up and preparing a great strategy, meaning there will be wins on the field and there will be some over-achieving.

But the most important part is trending up over the course of the season.

Every loss Saban 1st year at Bama's was within a TD or less, and not one Bama player was drafted his 1st year!!

Saban went on to finish his 1st year with a winning record by winning a bowl game.
