Does anyone else think Yemi will replace Kenny Hall in the starting lineup in the near future?

i really hope so. it'd be nice to see one of Martin's under-rated commits start as a freshman

I agree, he's been playing pretty solid lately. The only thing that bothers me is his relative lack of basketball "history" growing up. Reminds me of Brian Williams in a way.

yeah, i do. when this guy starts to really learn the game, he will be special. he's only been playing basketball about 4 years. would love to see him replace hall.

Yemi's ascent looks to be in direct proportion to Kenny's descent. So, I'd say yes.

I really like Yemi! I think he is a rough, but very coachable. If his defense comes along, which I expect with CCM pushing him, then I think he is going to be a huge asset to us in the years to come. It's my understanding that he didn't play much basketball at all, a lot like B, Williams, but I think this kids has a lot more going on in his head than Williams did. He seems to be very serious about his game.

All that being said, I though Kenny played some good minutes in Hawaii this week and made seemed to make some progress. I hope we continue to see that progress on both sides of the ball. I think CCM will get it out of him and he will continue to start.

The difference is Brian Williams was sitting on a couch getting fat when he decided to pick up basketball, Yemi is a converted soccer player. It took until the NCAA run Williams' junior year for him to understand how to compete night in and night out in a team sport. Playing soccer as a kid, at least Yemi doesn't have to learn how to do that part.

I think Kenny has plenty of talent but he's lazy and inconsistant. There's no other way to look at it. He shows how atheltic he is in spurts but then he goes to the rim weak or does something stupid and it leaves you scratching your head. Yemi is really raw but has a lot of potential (sad part is, Hall use to be in that catagory and never progressed)
