Why, yes this is early speculation. I like CBJ so far and the things he's said and his 1st impression, etc. He strikes me as the type who doesn't play to lose, and wants to set the tone early with UT fans. I could see him throwing the kitchen sink at Oregon, not holding back. Sure, it could be a disaster and Oregon will likely win with great ease anyway. But it would get the team and Volnation looking ahead past the growing pains. Now I'm not saying destroy the new QBs confidence and stability with 40 passes and 4 picks, but gosh I hope its not a "safe" game. Guess I'm just tired of all the gloom about this game. I'm still excited to play the fashion show ducks. I hate seeing all of these lesser schools throw the kitchen sinks at these big schools while UT plays not to lose.

Hope no one misreads that last part as a comparison of UT and lesser schools lol

I don't think CBJ is going go "fancy" on Oregon. Before we play the Ducks I want to see what the offense and defense looks like. We'll be totally outmanned in terms of firepower but I like what CBJ said about not killing ourselves with turnovers. If you give Oregon free possessions they'll score points like Playstation.

Well you guys know what I mean. He's not gonna be stupid. But I don't think he will play it really safe so it won't get too bad out of hand. I think he will instill confidence and play hard and aggressive to an extend. Don't think it will be boring. Ok maybe it will lol

I'm looking forward it, too. We're going to lose, but I'm still looking forward to it.

We have enough talent to be in everygame. Hell, even Dooley managed to keep us in most games for at least a half. Dont be suprised if this team pulls an upset or two through out this season. With Oregon having a new coach too.......they might just be the first one!

What's in the kitchen sink?

I really like what Butch has to say, he really fires me up. Then , just when I start to get really excited about what might be, I remember that Dooley made that Cinncinati team look bad last year. Yes they recovered nicely but....the guy lost to Dooley. Not many people have to acknowledge that fact. Really brings me back down to earth.

I really hate it when people say "he lost to dooley." Tennessee had far more talent than them...we were expected to win.

Bray, Hunter, and Da'rick had a great day. thats tough for a big east team to match up against.

Rivals rankings for last 4 years

Oregon. Tennessee.
10/13. 10/9
11/9. 11/13
12/16. 12/17
13/21. 12/20

There's more to this like all the players gone from these teams...but I'm no Oregon insider so idk anything about that

Because of what I saw in our defense last year, their speed is what scares me.

Im praying to god that our D improves miraculously.

I watched them take us to the woodshed two years ago, and at that point we were supposed to have better talent. Now we're even. Coach Jones will definitely have to get every last ounce out of this team to be competitive.

Cant have it both ways. Dooley didnt get fired because he won a lot of games, he got fired because he lost too many games. No one says Tennessee went winless in the SEC, they say Dooley didnt win an SEC game. Fact is, Dooley beat Jones. Same was said about Butch Jones vs Charlie Strong. No one said Cincinnati beat Louisville to make themselves feel better about getting turned down by Strong. It is what it is.
