You know your getting old when Hollywood starts making remakes of movies that came out originally in your lifetime. This movie and the new Total Recall come to mind for me.

You know that Hollywood has no fresh ideas or originality when they start remaking movies and making movies out of old TV shows.

Judge Dredd is based off a comic book. I wouldn't call it a remake as much as a reboot like Batman Begins or Amazing Spider-Man.

But I do agree that Hollywood ran out of ideas years ago.

I think that Hollywood finds it easier to not try, and make original movies since it's unproven, and a risk.
Try making new Horror movies with New Horror Villains.

This Judge Dredd movie has no relation to the 1995 embarassment.
Also yes it's not Remake it's a Reboot the same as The Amazing Spider Man.

A Remake is to make a movie with the same characters, and story that was already made. There are changes but it's still the same story with the same characters.
Examples Cape Fear, King Kong, Dawn of the Dead, The Haunting, The Mummy, etc.

A Reboot is a movie that has the same main character, and other characters that were used but not related to the movie, or movies that were made before.
Examples
Batman Begins
The Amazing Spider Man
The Punisher Warzone
Captain America The First Avenger
