In short, about a month ago we found a van with three small children in it without any adult supervision.

To make a long story short, there was a fourth child being seen at a hospital and dad thought it would be a good idea to leave the other children in the car.

Well, I have court this morning with regards to this case and I am going to have every bleeding heart hating me because this gentlemen will more than likely be deported back to Mexico......

I bet you wish you were me!

We have laws against leaving children in cars for good reason. You did the right thing as a citizen and now our court system and federal laws kick in. You are not to blame if they do indeed deport this gentleman. Anyone who says otherwise is intellectually dishonest, not to mention a moron.:hi:

OE, that is a tough spot. Is the mother American or were the children born in the US? Just curious so yes keep updating this story.

Ok, funny story, ok every thing started around 0930 and to our surprise he showed up for court. When he walked in he had his ball cap on and his defense attorney motioned to him to take it off. Finally she had to get up and literally tell him to take it off.

She came back by me and nudged me down and whispered in my ear...... next time just shoot him!

What do you know, it was a good day after all.

Wow. Who needs enemies with defense attorneys like this!

Deport the dad, kids end up in foster care. Nobody wins.

The kids don't have to stay here! They can go with dad. Home is where you make it. He should have gone about coming to this country the right way.

I don't think so. I think the kids are here to stay by law.

There is no law requiring the children to stay here. If they were born here then they would be citizens but they could certainly go back to Mexico or where ever with dad if were deported.

I thought there was a differentiation on how the children were handled if deportation was resultant from a crime. Could be wrong. Hopefully the kids will remain with the family.

I did not think about the neglect scenario in that case.
