I think Pearl can ONLY achieve ledgendary status if he stays at TN. Anybody can win in places like KY, Duke, NC, or Indiana because of thier history. But it's something else to make HISTORY. Pearl has all the ingredients right here to do something no one dreamed could happen..turn TN into a basketball DYNASTY. We have the facilities, the money, an obsessed fan base being turned towards basketball, the mountains and lakes and temperate climate, great recruiting pool with our state being the epicenter of the Eastern US, one of the fastest growing economies in the nation, I could go on and on but the point is, Bruce can be the best and achieve every possible dream right here in K-Town, the City of Pearls.
Anybody? Ask Matt Doherty and Mike Davis about that.

I think he meant that winning would not make you a legend at those places...obviously not winning wouldn't.

It is wishful thinking on UK fan's part. I live in Indiana and Bruce Pearl has been mentioned, but the Bobby Knight loyalists if they can't get Knight himself back (NEVER HAPPEN!) then Alford is their man. Personally I think it is a mistake, but that is what they want. The thinking here is the Northern Iowa coach takes Iowa if Alford moves on. If I were a betting man though, I would bet on Matta from Ohio St. He apparently has an out in his contract, and OSU is about to get hammered for violations from his predecesser. He may go to IU and bring something with him that Alford couldn't......Greg Oden and Conley! If IU could get Matta and he brings those guys with him, then IU is winning the B10 next year. Anyway, Pearl is not generating a lot of talk in the media here, just on some fan boards that have been impressed with how UT has done this year. They also point to UT's stunning turnaround as proof positive of just how much Davis's coaching has been dragging them down.
