Makes you wonder if he told those recruits that there was nothing to worry about , then this happens. Seems like his name and reputation would take a hit there. Lane just strikes me as the type of guy that says something in the heat of the moment and doesn't really think of the long term consequences of what he's saying. Kind of a loose cannon type of fellow, know wonder him and Orgeron get along , two peas in a pod.I don't know, but I bet he is fit to be tied right now.

Then i guess the question becomes can he behave long enough to get anything done at SC.It looks like Lane is leading O around by the nose. He probably told him not to worry too. It is likely that Garrett told him there was nothing to worry about and he bit hook, line, and sinker.
I don't think this is going to kill his career, but he won't be able to win right away. There will be no instant gratification. I think that will be enough to appease most disgruntled UT fans.
He left us in a bad spot for greener pastures. I still don't begrudge the move, but it is much better for the collective UT psyche that he won't be playing for championships for the next two years at the very least.
